I booked a cab through Easycabs on Dec 13, 2011 and was pleasantly surprised that the call was attended promptly and my booking was confirmed for 9:30 AM the next morning. I received a text message confirming the booking as under,
Date Time Telephone number Name Call time / SMS Text
13/12/2011 08:09:48p <No Caller ID> TD-EASYCB Dear Customer, Your booking id for dt 14 Dec 09:30 is A[protected];Thank you for choosing Easycabs.
The next morning until around 9:15 AM I had not heard from them and called them up. The female executive on the line told me that I would receive the cab details within a couple of minutes.
Imagine my astonishment when I received the following message,
Date Time Telephone number Name Call time / SMS Text
14/12/2011 09:14:26a <No Caller ID> TD-EASYCB Dear Customer, due to a technical error, we are unable to service booking no. A[protected]. Please ignore the Car details sent. We deeply regret the inconvenience
The surprising thing is that no car details were sent to me.
With no time left I was compelled to take my car, and had to spend 20 minutes looking for parking in Fort, thereby getting delayed for my appointment.
I have had another bad experience with Easycabs at the Mumbai airport. Having booked a cab at their kiosk in the arrival hall I was given a car number and told that the car would arrive in 15 minutes. After 25 minutes and no cab in sight I had to request the security personnel at the arrival gate to allow me to go inside to check the status. When I went inside the executive told me that the car would reach in a couple of minutes and asked me to wait outside. The car did come after another 10 minutes and when I asked the driver what took so long he just drove off! No reason for the delay, no apology, just a flat refusal. I finally had to take a cool cab and I must say the experience was far better than the more than half an hour wasted behind Easycabs.
If a cab company is unable to provide a cab after confirming a booking it is their responsibility to inform the customer well in time, not make a last minute cancellation leaving the customer in the lurch. I went to their website to leave a feedback after the second incident but surprise surprise, there is no feedback option for booking cancellations!
No more Easycabs for me, Meru is far better even with the long waits on the telephone and now their web based booking is extremely convenient.
This service deficient organisation should be avoided by everyone.

A few days ago I received a call from one Tejas from Easycabs. He asked if it was the right time to talk and I requested him to call back after an hour. No phone call the rest of the day. He called the next day! Same story, same inane apology, same request that you please try Easycabs again.
When I asked him what they were willing to do to make up for it, there was no response other than a sorry...again! I would have appreciated his personally offering to arrange a cab the next time I wanted one but there was no offer of any sort. I finally had to tell him that the conversation was over as he kept repeating the same litany.
Apologies count for nothing Easycabs, unless they are meant with sincerity.
On my part I will continue with the tried and trusted Cool Cab having had my faith restored in them.
