[Resolved] EMS Speed Post — Delay by Customs | |
I have a non-commercial parcel sent by EMS Speed Post from Taiwan bearing the item number EE[protected]TW on 5th June 2009. So far the tracking record shows it reached Calcutta Foreign Post Office on 6th June at 4:30am. Since then to this very moment its being held by customs. I visited the Foreign Post on 10th June. The postal executives really came into help and I was shocked by the information they shared with me. The Custom Officer who does the checking of these incoming parcels went on leave since last 10 days and no replacement has been arranged by Kolkata Customs. So there is a huge backlog of parcels awaiting for inspection and subsequent delivery. Today(16/06/09) I rang up Foreign Post again at 12 noon, they told me the respective Custom Officer joined his duty only yesterday and today he is yet to step into the office. As per tracking record the packed was delivered to EMS at 4.40 am on 25th july 2009.
The percel has not been delivered to the addresse till 27th July 2009.
The contents of the packets were some banking documents.
Kindly confirm the time and date the packet has been delivered to aboe address.
Your early attention in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Since 20th November 2010 its showing on website as “Your item was handed over to Customs (REPUBLIC OF INDIA CALCUTTA PAR) at[protected]:55:00” Since then its being held by customs.
I am trying to reach to anybody who could advise me what’s the current situation & when my parcel will get delivered, but I am get surprised by few comments of the Post office employs. No one is able to confirm that from where I could get the new & to whom I should contact.
If anybody could help me then please advice.
