[Resolved]  General Motors — Lousy Customer Service

I am pasting below the entire chain of mails that I have sent ot General Motor Corporation and to their regional sales manager, but no one has ever bothered to call me, even though their auto reply does say that someone will get back. Ganesh Rasal has never bothered to call me, and Vineet at the SC Auto Service Center, had promised me a call back way back in January, but I am still waiting, he has never bothered to call me back either.

I don't think that people have gauged the gravity of the issue, as no one has bothered to get back to me. I have followed up with people on multiple occasions, but every time I get promised a call back, and no one ever gets back to me.

So, I have now given up on General Motors customer service and also on the dealership to fight my case with the company. So, since I am on my own, I am thinking of taking help from the media to see if I can get someone to pay attention to customers.

Hi Ganesh,

When I send a mail as a customer with a concern I expect a response and also for someone to get back to me, especially so if you are from a company who really cares about customer satisfaction.

The lack of response from you or the customer service really does not speak very highly about GM Customer service. As, for the customer service department, sending an automated response followed by someone, sending a pre-formatted text copied and pasted straight out of a template, and no one following up on it is only depicts a callous attitude.

I know that the issue with my car is the first of its kind in a Chevy Spark, but then it is still a serious issue, and someone has to take it seriously, unless GM really does not care about losing customers.

This time I not only expect a response from you guys, but I also would like an email/contact for someone higher up in GM India where I can escalate the matter, while I get the point of contact at a GM Global, for whoever is in charge of the ASIAPAC region, and I can find it as I work for JP Morgan, and we always have a list of contact people in our corporate database.

Hi,

I had recently got a repair work done on my new Chevy Spark, after it got banged by a bus from behind.

The boot lid, left filler panel and left tail light assembly were replaced and along with that a list of sealants. But, ever since I got the car back form repairs I have been noticing a slight rattling sound from the boot, which kept on increasing with each passing day. I got my car back from the initial repairs on the 3rd of January, and now I have sent it back to SC Auto, Thane West, on Monday, 11th January.

The current issues:

1. Rattling noise from the boot, and boot lock.

2. Incorrect aligned of the boot lid.

3. Wide gaps, far more than the standard gaps, around the left tail
light; and also between the rear windscreen and the side body panel. I checked the clearance on a standard Spark and it was not more than 5mm, but in my car, not only is it more than 5mm, but it keeps on increasing as you descend from the top of the windscreen.

Request you to please have one of your engineers look into the matter. My car has spent more time in the workshop since I bought it last month than with me. The first thing that happened was that the entire starter kit burnt out on the very first day that I got my car, and it was at the workshop for about 2 days. Then a week down the line, a bus banged it from behind in standing traffic, and it was back at the workshop for another 20 days. The registration number of my car is MH-04-ED-5154.

General Motors — HARRASMENT BY DEALER SHIVA MOTORS

I PURHASED A CAR AVEO 1.4 OF GM MOTORS THRU SHIVA MOTORS, NOIDA. BEFORE MAKING PAYMENTS THE CAR PRICE AND DISCOUNTS FINALISED AND FIXED. THE SAME WAS CONFIRMEN IN WRITING BY SALES EXECUTIVE THAT THE PRICE AGREED IS FIXED AND NO CHANGE WILL BE THERE TILL DELIVERY OF CAR. I PAID THE FULL AMOUNT ABUOT 3 DAYS BEFORE DELIVERY DATE.
WHEN I VISITED SHOWROOM FOR DELIVERY OF MY CAR, THE SALES EXECUTIVE DEMANDED RS 2500/- EXTRA AND SAID IF I DO NOT PAY THIS AMOUNT REGISTRATION OF MY CAR WILL BE WITHHELD . IN SUCH A SITUATION I WAS FORCED TO PAY RS 2500/-ADDITIONAL IN ADDITION TO AGREED. INSPITE OF MAKING THIS ADDITIONNAL CHARGE, I WAS HANDED OVER THE REGISTRATION PAYMENT SLIP AFTER 10 DAYS AND THE AMOUNT PAID TO THE TRANSPORT AUTHORITY WAS ABOUT RS 4000/-LEWSS THAN AMOUNT CHARGED.THERE WAS NO RESPONSE TO THE COMPLINT TO SR SALES OFFICIALS OF SHIVA MOTORS, NOIDA

General Motors — Defective Tyres

Sub:- Aveo UVA DL 9CT0903

I had purchased a Aveo UVA Car from M/s Metro cheverlot Vasant Vihar New Delhi on Oct’2008. The car was provided Tubeless Tyres of Goodyear make. Recently I noticed that there is some problem in the rear tyre, and when I got checked the tyres I was shocked to hear that the new tyres starts bulging. The same was the conditions of all the four tyres. The car has just done 2400Kms till date and the tyres become defective so early.

I took the car to M/s Metro cheverlot from where I purchased the car on 11/07/2009. Shri Anil Sikka, Asstt Service Manager inspected the conditions of the tyres and he was also satisfied that there is problems in all the four tyres. He told me that there engineer will inspect the tyres and asked me to contact next day as 11/07/2009 was Sunday. On 13/07/2009 I again contacted Shri Anil Kumar Sikka and I got the reply that the tyres company will inspect the tyres!!!. He told me that they had contacted Goodyear Local Office at New Delhi and they fixed the appointment for inspection only for 16/07/2009 but he did not told me the exact time when the car will be inspected.

My question is as I had purchased the Car from General Motors, then it is the responsibility of the car company to get the tyres replaced at once.

As such I request your good self to kindly take my problem on top priority and get the tyres replaced urgently as it is very dangerous to drive the vehicle with such types of tyre as they can burst at any time resulting mishappening to me or to my family members
I think the complaint is quite right.

I faced the same issue with tyres on my Aveo 1.4.

Tyre Noise increased with time and grunting nose from 2 tyres, I was informed that all 4 tyres are bad.

The make of the tyres causing the problem is goodyear eagles. I believe that GM changed the tyres from goodyear to bridgestones after 2007.

My Car has done 30000 Kms now, but the problem appeared on 15000 Kms.

I purchased a 2009 GMC Seria pick up Hybrid 6.0
they advertise 22average miles per gallon city. I can`t get 17 MPG. I have had it to dealers and they have not been able to improve milage. I bought it thinking I would average at least 20. I drive 5 miles to work at average 40 mph.

I have to agree with Anup. I am sure this is 100% correct as I am facing similar issue. I was having issue with SC Auto corp Thane (where they charged me more money -Approx 8000 Rs) which they are not able to justify properly). I had written the complain long back to gmi and kept following up till 2 month back. Every time I got the false promise that we will get back to you.. but it never happend... I have given up the hope now...

I had a very bad experience from SC Auto.
I sent my spark for repair after it was hit from front to SC Auto.
The Front Right Side was damaged but not ruptured.
Still SC Auto took exact 2 months i.e. 60 days to repair.
Always I have to Contact them for the status of the car.
When one month was over One of the Service Advisor Mr Abbas was giving me false information that he will deliver my car within a week. I was literally Pissed off by him as he was not even ready to pick up my phone on his cell. Also I tried to contact at his office but he was not ready to take the call saying he is in meeting.
When i visited the workshop he gave me the reason that the Axle is damage and Chevrolet is out of stock. And as per him chevrolet took 1 month to deliver the Axle.( As per him Sc Auto has ordered the part well in advance but chevrolet was out of stock) It was unimaginable that the company like chevrolet dont have an important part as Axle in stock.
Finally I contacted at the head office of GM from where I got the no. of VP of Sales& Service of this region. Even after contacting him I have to keep a personal follow up with the SC Auto . And finally I got my car back after 2weeks after having chat with VP of Western Region.

In fact because of this poor service of Chevrolet I will recommend every one not to go for any of the Chevrolet Car and even if you go for it unfortunately avoid SC Auto of Thane.

Its my humble request to all of you .. please please please dont chose SC Auto .

Dear All, I am in full agreement with the quality o[censored]nprofessionalism prevailing in General Motors and my experience has been with Ashtavinayak Auto. I was quite fortunate enough to have experienced much before even I visit their Dealer's office in Mumbai. More surprising fact is that despite receiving instruction from the Corporate Office of General Motors, neither the dealer and most surprising nor Mr Ganesh Rasal has bothered to call the customer. I would never ever either buy or recommend anyone to buy any car / vehicle from General Motors. I also lost the respect for the credibility of the Comopany. My email id: [protected]@gmail.com. I AGREE WITH Anup's complaint.

I would like to Introduce myself BASKAR from Chennai India.

I purchased a chevrolet cruze AT in India just 3 month back i.e in the month of FEB 2012 from the second day itself i am facing repeated complaint with the AC and in this regard I sent my car to dealer point many times and still they cannot able to rectify it.

But I understand it is because of faulty part of AC CONDENSER but since the car is just 3 months old and moreover the part is replaceable under warrantee but the dealer is hesitating in this regard and I sent various mails and reminders to GENERAL MOTORS INDIA but so far no reply from General Motors India this indicates their kind of service providing their customers.

I have full track record in this regard but still fighting with GM to get the rectification.

I am attaching herewith the photo of defective AC Condenser photo in leaking condition.

Any body suggest action required from my end further would help me to proceed further.
