Godrej — Sub standard refrigerator

I bought a Godrej eon refrigetor in October 2007. In last 3 months, it has broken down 4 times. Sometimes the fan is not working and sometimes its the thermostat. Godrej refuses to replace it saying that they can repair but not replace it. As both me and my wife are working, it has become a real pain as everytime this happens, me or my wife has to stay back to get it repaired. As a customer, I rate godrej very low in product quality.

Subject: Replace Defective Godrej EON 305 Litre Metalic Champion Refrigerator.

I would like to draw your kind attention to the followings for your kind and sympathetic consideration and favorable orders:-
1) I would like to state that upon my complaint to your goodself vide my email letter dt 18/03/2009, one of your representatives, Mr Sheetal visited my house on 19/03/2009 to check my refrigerator. I told him that the fridge is neither making Ice nor giving adequate cooling causing spoiling of vegetables and food items. But even before checking the fridge he started to demand service charges of Rs.350/=.I once again reiterates that the fridge had started giving trouble soon after its purchase and I had been urging the company’s agent Salesman Manoj Sahu-879 to replace the defective piece. But he did not do so and some how dragged the time of one year .I had purchased the fridge for Rs.22500/=which is not a small amount. Now this fridge has become dud for me. This was not so when Godrej had its reputed household name. Now your sellers and agents have become greedy and very lethargic providing the company a bad name. Please do not send such greedy representatives to my house who first demands money and does nothing to rectify the instruments. Such agents and representatives will definitely bring bad name to the once reputed company. I do not want to hand over the case to the consumer court or to publish stories of your company in the press and hope that defective piece will soon be replaced by your goodself.
I have now come to a conclusion that this refrigerator is having a manufacturing defect and it can never work satisfactorily and hence I can no longer keep it with me and keep facing problems every day. As such, I request your kind honour to look into the matter and either take back the product and refund the cost of the refrigerator or immediately replace it, failing which, I shall be left with no option but to file a case with the DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM for not only refund of cost but also for the monetary compensation for unnecessary mental agony, tension and the losses that I had to suffer from the date of purchases till date.
Thanking you and looking forward for an early decision. If my request is not acceded to within 10 days from the date of receipt of this mail, the matter would be taken up with DISTRICT CONSUMER FORUM.

Godrej EON Refrigerator — Replacement of Shelf

I am not sure if you are the right person to address this query to, but i have exhausted all other options. I had purchased a Godrej Eon refrigerator in April 2009, immediately after that in May 09, the tray was broken, and i raised a service request for changing it. Despite my agreeing to bear the cost, it has not been changed. I have had atleast 5 different service man coming to my house looking at it and going off.

The last complaint no given by the service desk was 429611, but still it is not changed, request your intervention, as i had tremendous faith in sales and services of GODREJ, which has taken a severe beating after this experiance.

BOOKED A GODREJ EON REFRIGERATOR ON 08.10.2009 WHICH WAS DELIVERED ON 11.10.2009. COOLING STOPPED ON 20.10.2009. TECHNICIAN REPLACES THE TIMER SWITCH AT 12 NOON ON 21.10.2009. COOLING STARTS, AT 10 PM THE ROOM IS FLOODED WITH WATER DRIPPING FROM THE REFRIGERATOR. ALSO THE GIFT OF MICROWAVE WHICH WAS PROMISED BY VIJAY SALES HAS YET TO REACH US. AFTER PAYING HARD EARNED MONEY THIS IS CAUSING ME MENTAL TORTURE . I THINK WE ALL SHOULD GO TO THE CONSUMER COURT FOR OUR PROBLEM.

godrej refrigirator GODREJ EDGE — COCROACHES ENTERING IN TO FRIDGE

godrej frost free eon — poor quality of material

i had bought a 2 door frostfree refrig in Jan 08. Within 6 mths i had problem of the the plastics of the door handle which was broken. When i complained about it i was told that a service engineer would come and his visiting charges would be 350/- plus the cost of replacement. This is extremely exorbitant . Firstly if i pay pay more than INR 26000/- for a product i expect certain std of quality, which to my astonishment that u r using such poor quality of mtrl. i refused to pay the service charges and instead bought the plastic handle for 150/- and put it myself.

Secondly , the main door of the frig has now got problems relating to non closing of the door. Again i had to complain , and have to pay 1200/- plus 350/- for the door rubber detachable lining and service charges. i feel this is neither warranted seeing that the cost of the appliance and should not be the case that everytime something gets defective. i had gone for this product of godrej as my earlier frig gave me troublefree service for ten yrs. I am very disappointed, henceforth no product is coming to my house or any friends. For heavensake maintain quality products for such costly items.

Godrej Double Door fridge — NOT GIVING COOLING

TILL RECENTLY I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE WORKING OF MY REFRIGERATOR.
FOR THE LAST ABOUT MORE THAN TWO MONTHS, MY FRIDGE IS NOT GIVING COOLING. SOME ONE GAVE ME THE MOBILE NUMBER OF AUTHORISED MECHANIC OF GODREJ IN THE AREA (MOBILE NO [protected]) & I CONTACTED HIM ON TELEPHONE FOR THE JOB.HE DEMANDED Rs 1600/- FOR THE JOB.i AGREED.HE ATTENDED TO THE FRIDGE, STARTED IT AND ASKED FOR THE FIRST INSTALLMENT OF Rs. 1000/- WHICH I (UNFORTUNATELY) PROMPTLY PAID.
THE COOLING PROBLEM OF THE FRIDGE IS AS SUCH & NO RELIEF FROM THE PROBLEM. ME & MY WIFE MUST HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE PERSON ON MORE THAN HUNDRED TIMES BUT HE IS NOT RESPONDING TO THE CALLS.
ANY WAY, MY COMPLAINT MAY PLEASE BE REGISTERED AFRESH WITH THE CONCERNED, WITHOUT ANY BACK REFERENCE TO THE HISTORY EXPLAINED ABOVE PLEASE.

Sir,
I am Harshad Malushte from Pasc Palace II, 204, Near Manek pur Talav, Vasi west. I have purchased a Godrej EON Frost Free Refrigerator double door on 31/05/2008 from Vijay Sales Thane near eternity mall. Only within a span of 24 months the refrigerator has gone out of order and the Godrej technician told that they will either replace the compressor as the problem lies with the compressor.
It is very strange that such a big company is making so sub standard quality refrigerator that the unit becomes faulty within a few months and then they refuse to replace it. It is not sure that they will be giving a new compressor also. They may even give an used compressor as spare. Also the technician told me that i will have to spare rs 2000 from my own pocket for gas and other even though the compressor is replaced. This is sheer cheating and depriving the consumer of his rights.
as the customer is suffering after spending Rs.15000/- for buying this sub standard quality product. Godrej people are equally reluctant in giving proper service. They are cheating and fooling people by selling sub standard products without proper quality check. The godrej Management should be answerable for this

I have purchased a Godrej EON Frost Free Refrigerator double door on 23/10/2008 from Smart care, Sec-Bad Within a span of 20 months the refrigerator has gone out of order and the Godrej technician told that Gas problem is there they filled the gas 5 times in 2 months.It is very strange that such a big company is making so sub standard quality refrigerator that the unit becomes faulty within a few months and then they refuse to replace it. It is not sure that they will be giving a new compressor also. I will have to spare rs 1250 + 300 from my own pocket for gas and other even. This is sheer cheating and depriving the consumer of his rights.

I am Suman Singh Bhadoria from Bhopal.After reading above complaints it seems that Godrej has launched technically faulty refrigerator in the market by the name of Eon series as i have also bought Ion Godrej double door refrigerator in 2007 & my complaint is also same. It is not cooling. On lodging complaint in godrej they have sent a technician who changed Differential timer & i was charged Rs. 975/- as cost of repair & within one month again it is giving same problem. No cooling. Now I do not know what to do with it.
this is going to tarnish image of Godrej once the leader in refrigerators and now loosing edge over other brands. With this kind of service & products we will shift to other foreign brands.
This is my humble request from the top management of the Godrej take up this matter & do something
