[Resolved]  Hyundai i10 — problem with EPS

I own a i10- ERA model. my car is 10 months old. 3 months back when we are travelling to kodaikanal, suddenly my steering got jammed and its very tough to steer it and i had a very tough time to bring my vehicle to halt at the side of the road. when i contacted my dealer he said this problem is found in some of these models and he told that company will provide you a free replacement.
now even though after the replacement with new steering set, this problem still occurs. when traveling in cities like chennai if the problem comes its really very tough to bring the car to a halt.

Hi guys,
I am facing the same problem with my i10 era may 2008 model. when I contacted my Hyundai Dealer I was told that this is a very common problem in i10 and the entire EPS unit will be changed. Since My car is out of warranty I was asked to shell out 22K for the device.

I am planning to raise the issue with the Hyundai company as this is a common problem with i10 and the device should be replaced free of cost by Hyundai Company. For this purpose I request you all to please send me the following details of your vehicle so that the issue can be taken up with the company.
1) Registration No
2) VIM No.
3)Date of purchase
4)date of defect.

hYUNDAI CAR I10 ERA — SERVICE AND PART REPLACEMENT NOT AVAILABLE

I have a i 10 era no GJ 01 HS 6786 bought on 16/05/2008 from ahd, to day morning i took out the vehicle and found that steering was very hard and eps light was on continuously i am at Baroda (Vitoria) presently with great difficulty i drove down to downtown Hyundai your service station at Baroda he said a spare part is need to be replace and presently it is not available and needs to be ordered and will take a week, so i brought my vehicle back with great difficulty and driving discomfort, i am terribly upset that you esteemed company does not stock there service station with stocks of spares i am worried how will i drive back to Ahmadabad in this condition

I have same problem with my hyundai i10, but i'm not getting replacement from hyundai my car has CNG installed and company is getting aside to give the EPS in warranty. What should i do?

Own a 14 months old i10 (ERA) which has travelled only 3000 KM so far. It got EPS turned on while driving on raod which makes the stering very hard to move around and makes the life on-board risky. I have purchased this from ORION HYUNDAI GURGAON.
I am wondering what a poor technology have been impletemented in I-10 in such a competitive market.

I would suggest perople not to buy I-10 rather go for some other cars.

i see the probleme whith my car i10 the eps system faild
I also got the same experience with Hyundai i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa where one fine morning the power steering got jammed and the EPS sign blinked on and off. The steering was left without "power" and became a normal steering thereafter. I went to the dealer (Orion Hyundai, Gurgaon, in this case) and they sent for a replacement approval which is yet to return in eight days, and yet to be fitted. Meanwhile, the next day morning, the EPS sign never lighted up, but the car is is now in "power steering" mode, ceasing to be "powerless" at times. Very crazy to drive at times.

This all happened 4 months after I bought the car. Poor performance.
I have recently started facing this problem.I dont know what to do?All of a sudden the EPS lights blinking and the steering is completely jam.

i have an hyundai i10 magna regd no CH04H1269 bought in Mar 2009.
I am in Behrmpur (orrisa) & got the second free servicing of my car done atauthorised dealer which is UTKAL HYUNDAI. The job was not done properly by the dealer . The attitude was also very negative ang poor workmanship. A job work of painting & denting was also there for which the dealer charged me a huge sum of Rs 7500.00 and the work is shady at best. please advice action
I booked my car from Sharayu Motors Navi Mumbai.

They do not give proper status of booked car. administration and communication with custmer is very poor. What will be after buying car??????

Hyundai i 10 — defect in piece

HAVE HYUNDAI I 10(ERA) PURCHASED IN DEC. 2008
AFTER 2 MONTH MY CAR GOT SCRATCHED
WHEN I REACHED AT HOME I SAW THAT AREA THE CAR COLOUR COMPLETELY REMOVE FROM THAT AREA WITH VERY LITTLE PENETRATION.
THIS PROBLEM OCCURS MANY TIME
SO I INFORM TO COMPANY BUT THEY REFUSE IT COMPLETELY AND SAID ITS NOT REMOVE LAYER BY LAYERAND SAID THIS IS NORMAL.
BUT AFTER SOME MONTH MY VEHICLE HITTED BY COMMERCIAL VEHICAL AT FENDER SPEED IS 5 kmph ANT PAINT REMOVE LAYER BY LAYER
SO I FILE THIS CASE TO CONSUMER COURT
PLEASE TELL ME IF ANY ONE WHO HAVE THIS SANE PROBLEM
AND GIVE ME SOME MORE INFORMATION WHICH I SAYS IN COURT

Hyundai — EPS

I purchase a new i10 Hyundai Magna on 18th Oct 2008. But after completing a year while driving my car I suddenly face my power steering very hard. I think the problem is in EPS system.
I hope EPS system can be replaced as my i10 magna has a two years warranty.

I have bought i10 car last year May, Yesterday morning when i was about to take the car from home i found the EPS indicator flickering continuously and the steering and Break got jammed.I am surprised how come this happened and also worried if suppose this happens while driving on a busy area.I think this has to be revisited by the Manufacturer and find a permanent solution for the same and keep the customer happy

I have purchased Hyundai i10 from Capital Hyundai,Noida.But I'm getting my services done in Motor Plaza ,Delhi.Today I went for 3 Free Service but they didn't accept my vehicle saying that they were short of manpower today.I requested them to book my Sevice for Sunday ie 13 dec.but they said we have full booking till 28 Dec.
as I'm going out of station 0n 17 Dec,I request you to get my Sevice done before as I want my Service to be done in Motor Plaza ,Delhi Pnly

hyundai i 10 1.2 magna — spare parts not available

sir my vehicle met with an small accident on 13 mar 2010 at 1900 hrs. i live in naliya i purchased my i 10 from b. mangatram & sons Bhuj Kutch, Gujrat i drove along on 14 Mar at 10oohrs all the way to Bhuj which is 110 Kms from my place. The problem is till date and hour of this day i am getting an answer stating that my vehicle part which is damaged is not available in gandhidham & it will take atleast 10 days more for the parts to reach the service station in Bhuj. I just want a small clarification have i made a mistake by purchasing i 10.
i just want you to intervene in this matter and solve my problem & i feel every one out here is facing the same problems the clintele satisfaction level is to low
I have recently encountered such a problem with my i10 Magna. It's been 2 years since I have been driving this car without any problems, but a week back the EPS signal remained ON after starting the engine. The steering gets really hard to handle as if there is some kind of resistance building up inside it. I approached my dealer and without even doing any analysis they declared that a replacement is required. I am sure they are aware of such problems with i10. Unfortunately it will take a week for a replacement to arrive. I will have to keep following up to ensure they do take it up seriously. will update once this is rectified.
Dear Sir,

I am having i10(Era )model. I am very unhappy with the EPS syetem in the car.

4 times it has happened to in Bangalore, EPS indicator is on steering is blocked.

I am using my car normally in the city only. I have requested the dealer to replace.

I think dealers should rush to the car owners to solve this problem immediately, other wise

lose the credibility .I call this as Critical Care (Emergency). Please help me in this regard &

save us. Is there any Helpline people working on the field.??

Because this company is from Korea there is no helpline. if you want to rectify the problem please sell the car immediately. And choose any other Indian manufacturer.
I have got a similar complaint. My i10 is 2.5 years old & do not have extended warranty. I have purchased it thru Neo Hyundai, Jamnagar, Gujarat. The problem started after I came from a 30days holiday & when I tried to take the vehicle outside the garage, it got jammed suddenly. On 14.06.10, Monday They will take the vehicle from me for repair. I don't know whether the company will provide replacement or not.

I have also faced the same problem with EPS, which suddenly became defective with EPS sign never going off and the steering becoming very hard to manage. I have i10 Magna (0) and is a 2008 model with no extended warranty.

The dealer - Advaith says that it will cost me 22, 000 rupees to get the component replaced.

I am really surprised with the sudden development. He has suggested 2-3 days for the part to arrive, am currently waiting for the same.

Hyundai — I10 ERA EPS WORK JAM

I have purchased new I 10 ERA on 24/07/2010, just 10 DAYS back. From day one i am complaining that my steering works hard (JAM) when it is on straight direction. But my dealer , CONCEPT HYDAI, AHMEDABAD is not ready to listen and solved my problem. I am doctor and practicing last 20 years. and he wants to convince me that it is my myth.

I got it checked from one of my friends works with ISRO, Scientist. My friend has confirm that the product or piece supply to me has problem on EPS system. Not only this i have got it checked through Approved surveyour of the government. and he has confirm that product has problem. But MY DEALER CONCEPT HYDAI, Ahmedabad. Don't want to listen and don't want to solve my problem.

Instead of solving my problem he just sent me back by false promises. Yesterday this dealer's staff has cross all limits and misbehave grossly with me. I fail to understand that is it my fault that i have selected HYDAI product. I is my fourth car and second of Hydai Product. I really feel cheated by this service and feeling that product purchase, just 10 days back giving problem then what will happen after 2 to 3 year.

NOT A SINGLE HYDAI PERSON OR ENGINEER HAS VISITED ME OR EVEN CALL ME TILL DATE AFTER LODGING OF MY COMPLAINT.

i agree, i have purchased new I 10 car just 10 DAYS back and its EPS (Power Steering) is work Hard when it is on straight Direction and after 15 degree turn power steering works. Company dealer, CONCEPT HYDIA, AHMEDABAD is not ready to listen ND SOLVED MY PROBLEM. Is it bad service of Hydai or dealer is bad?
