Hi Sir/Madam,
I am Anil Kumar from hyderabad. I am a cutsomer of the ICICI BANK for the past 5 and a half years. I have been using their crdit cards for the past 2 years almost.
1. There was no problem earlier with their customer service number for AP circle [protected]. For the past 3 months onwards the problems started. Whenever, I dial the number, the automated voice takes me till the options "please hold the line while our CSR will contact all.. it takes a few minutes...and suddenly it says due to heavy call volume we are unable to attend your call please call later and hangs up abruptly". This all takes alomost 5-6 minutes of time. I can understand that sometimes there might be heavy call volume. I tried calling them again and again at different times raging from midnight 12.00, early morning at 4.00, afternoon around 12.00, 2.00 etc, Does it happen always and is it practicaly for the lines to be busy on mondays at midnight and early morning at 4.00. How humiliating it would be for the customer. This used to be my routine for almost a month. I could contact them once and resolved my query after dialing almost 25-30 times on different days and at different times.

2. Now, there is a different problem altogether. When the number is dialled it asks usto enter the credit card number. While entering the number, it immediately starts saying "we didn't receive your input please enter the card number or press * to go back to the previous menu". While I start either re-entering the number or continue entering the number completely, the automated voice says "we didn't get the input.. you have exceeded the maximum number of time.. sorry.. please try later and ends the call". This is really harrassing, irritating, frustrating, tiring and utter non-sense. It is very obvious that the ICICI BANK wants to fleece the customers and has no interest in attending to the customer calls. What sort of service is this?? I wanted to resolve an issue and am calling for more than a week and it is still the same. The issue is that I recently took a credit card from the ICICI BANK. As per norms they said they would charge a fee of Rs 500+tax towards the first year annual fee. The fee wouldn't be charged for the second year if my spendings exceed more than Rs50,000 in the first year. My first statement was generated on the 3rd of april. They billed me Rs 500+61 as tax for first year'e fee. Apart from that they again billed another Rs 500+60 tax mentioning annaul fee for second year. I was shocked to the core. Howcome anyone charge the annual fee for the second year on the very first statement?? After 2 days I received a message stating that the second annual fee would be credited in the next month's statement. My question is why will I have to pay the second year's fee when the bank is not supposed to charge me in the first instance. That is the bank's blunder. They should not have charged at all. I wanted to talk to the bank and am trying for the past one week and the line is disconnected deliberately by the bank to cheat customers. If i don't pay the second year's fee and pay off my other balance, they will in all probability charge me a late fee and interest. I know people and know many stories from people and see daily in news and news papers regarding the run-around and other similar crimes committed by Credit card companies again the gullible and innocent customers.
Is this the way the second largest bank in India functions?? They are simply cheating customers and making the customer's pay for their mistakes and blunders. Please look into this matter and make sure that no customer feels let down just for being a loyal customer.

ICICI — The Obvious

Whom ever this may concern

I am not even sure if it makes any sense to complain about this since I have learnt that this bank really does not care about their customers’ or potential customers’ opinion. I guess this is just my way of venting.
I have been with this bank for a few months and I must say that the service offered has been nothing short of appalling. Opening the account was quite simple. The guys even showed up at my workplace to get it done. I remember that I did not have all of the necessary documents with me but they were more than willing to flex with me and have me scan the copies in my own sweet time and email it to them.
The problem came when I had to make queries. It first starts with that annoyingly happy voice taking you through a drawling painstaking trip of what number to dial to get to nowhere. After a few tedious minutes of waiting (while you obviously have better things to do) you get the, “I’m sorry but you have exceeded your number of requests. Finally you manage to get on to a “customer” representative who tells you that they’ll charge you for making requests on the phone but if you log on to the website it will be free and they’ll send your request to your home address.
My problem was that I could not remember my online user ID or password (I know stupid mistake). I had called and requested a new one and they had said that they were going to send it within 8 working days. So I called the bank again. I told the “customer” representative that I made the complaint about two weeks ago to which he gladly corrected me that it was a month ago. He said it was sent and no one was at home. Forgive me but we all work. I’ve explained that no one is usually home and I would prefer if the new password and user ID can be sent to my office address. To this he told me that it would take approximately one month before my new address can be updated to the system. I then asked him how I can close my account. Now I know must banks would not want you to close your account cause they’ll see it as a failure on their part…but not ICICI…they couldn’t care less if you just dropped off. At least the guy was helpful in telling me how I can relieve myself from their care.
Well let’s see what happens next. I have given up on them not even bothering to call me after I had applied for my credit card or even following up to my complaint about it.
