[Resolved] ICICI Bank — Threatening and Abusive calls from recovery agents | |||
Dear Sir, I need to bring to your attention my experience as an ICICI Bank customer. My name is Lalit Kumar and I was using an ICICI Credit Card # [protected] which is about 5-6 years old and due to some problems with the bank I had stopped paying the credit card dues. Now few days ago some ICICI recovery agent named Nandan & Sanjay Singh has started calling at my mobile no. from no.s'[protected]/10/11/13 stating that they would like to do a full and final settlement on my card and if I am ready to pay the settlement amount, all my dues would be clear and I would receive an NOC from ICICI on my credit card and my name would be removed from the default list in CIBIL as well. I agreed to pay the settlement amount but kind of terms and conditions they put, was not affordable by me. However due to some emergency I was unable to furnish that settlement that month. Even then I tried hard to sort out the things, but then these guy used abusive language and started threatening me that he has my home and office address and he is going to come and beat me and my family up to ensure that I pay the amount or he will create a nuisance in my office and ensure I get kicked out of my office. The very same day they had called my office and started threatening that if, I didn't pay the amount they will keep calling me everyday to get the money out. He is even using the same language with the receptionist and my office staff. I already have asked him to call on my personal no., however he is adamant to talk on my official no. & at my home, my parents are more than 70 years old, they requested not to use this kind of language and clear that he (me) is not at home so please call at his mobile but they used to call and harass them. Now he has been calling everyday and threatening me of dire consequences, if I didn’t make the payment on Maximum by 22nd of September. I am not sure what do to at this stage as I fear the way Nandan & Sanjay Singh has been calling and threatening me to call at my office, he will either cause harm to my family or my job. These are not the only statements that the bank executive used, but were also accompanied by an offensive and abusive behavior and language, which is legally and ethically against the Human Rights and Indian Penal Code. I would request you to kindly advice if I should file an FIR against ICICI bank and Mr. Nandan & Mr. Sanjay Singh. I am not sure at this point how to get rid of these men's who has been harassing me and has been threatening of calling the senior level people in my company which could easily cost me my job. I would also like to know how I can settle my dues and obtain the NOC from ICICI bank to get my name removed from CIBIL. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THE EVENTS STATED ABOVE HAPPENED BETWEEN THE TIME PERIOD OF August 2011- September 2011. We hope that you take note of this experience and help us. Appreciate all help & support.
