My name is Neha and I'm holding a salary in ICICI bank for the past 7 years. Today, when I checked my account statement online, I noticed that I have been charged POSDEC CHG of Rs. 28.09 FIVE times on November 16th 2012 and the description says:
POSDEC CHG/24-10-12/0517/25ST3
POSDEC CHG/10-10-12/0517/25ST3
POSDEC CHG/14-10-12/0517/25ST3
POSDEC CHG/03-10-12/0517/25ST3
POSDEC CHG/21-10-12/0517/25ST3

Kindly explain what kind of charge is this... and why???

Hi My Name is Anil and i hold a ICICI Bank Salary account in Jayanagar Bangalore branch recently saw that 2 times amount of Rs 28.09 has been deducted and it has mentioned that POSDEC CHG/23-03-13/4776/25ST3 for the month of April dated 24.

Kindly Explain what kind of charges is this and why it has been deducted.

Today i got the same Transaction and i call to Customer care. They told simply "The charge is collected for Try to swipe your card above balance amount". What a service...!!????

I've been very satisfied with ICICI Bank Customer Services yet but its totally ridiculous when I see these charges

POSDEC CHG/31-12-15/1237/25+ST 28.50
POSDEC CHG/20-12-15/1237/25+ST 28.50
POSDEC CHG/01-12-15/1237/25+ST 28.50

which were deducted without my concern. It was not my fault and not explained earlier so I wouldn't bear those charges.

Hi Guys,

I just had the same issue. I was charged total 110/- rupees. Even I don't bear these charges. Let me explain the issue and solution to overcome.

POSDEC CHG is - Point of Sale Decline Charges. If you see "POSDEC CHG/01-12-15" in this "01-12-15" is a date. Then if you are able to see "1237/25" its time.

Which means, There is a decline charge on 01-12-15 at 12:37:25 PM. This is a fine to me or us due to insufficient balance in our accounts.

This can happen following chances.

1) Buying things and balance was insufficient.
2) Online transactions and see insufficient balance.
3) Swiping debit card and declined due to insufficient balance.

how to over come.

Disable Auto transactions form your bank to any account, money transfer(Mobiqwik, Paytm etc) and make sure you have sufficient balance in your account and do the transaction.

Note: If there is a deduction of 20 - 30 rupees for 1 person and what if it happened to 1 crore people. ICICI got 20 - 30 crore rupees with a simple reason "POSDEC CHG".

How many of agree this and would like to stop this. If yes, please visit nearest bank and submit a complaint. I'm going to submit a complaint on this.
