[Resolved] Karma Royal Resorts — Cheating innocent visitors coming to Goa

By this piece of complaint I want to warn unsuspected travellers who waste their precious holiday time and are being cheated by this so called cheat comapny called Karma Royal Group.
The modus operandi is that travellers moving aroung Goa on Holidays are approached by their agents (whom they themself call kidnapper) giving lure of prize vouchers containg false promises on free stay, ipod, restaurant vounchers, boating trips etc. They convince the unsuspected travellers that they are just promoting their resorts and want to publicise the same by providing free stays etc. and would like to take them to show the resort .
Once the traveller who has come to Goa on holiday by spending money on travel and hotels etc. falls into their trap of free stay and other instant prizes to be given and agrees to come along with them, he is picked by the kidnapper and taken to their resort.
Once you are there, without any consideration their actors just start playing drama introducing different persons and you are made to sit with your entire family for listening their non-stop commentary on resorts, time share plans, how you are wasting your life without joing them and other type of brain washing exercises. After 2-3 hours of non stop commentaries by different digfferent persons they start presurrising you to agree to take their membership which costs 3-4 lakhs.
The real colous appear when you refuse to take that and asks for the prizes promised. Than comes some bouncer type persons in picture who would inform you that you are not entitled for any of the instant prizes and you should just take a voucher, which you obviously would not be able to use and leave.
If you demand your promised prize they imkeditaely start misbehaving.
By the time you learn your mistake you had already lost your one day for which you had paid money to your hotel and you had come so far away from your home to enjoy holidays.
Despite being aware of such cheats I myself became their victim when they assured me that I should just listen to their resort promotion for one hour and I would be provided free stay immediately after that, than and there.
But when I demanded the assured prize I was told restaurent is closed, boat trip timings are over, free stay only with 2 months advance booking and like that. That bugger became so rude and abusive when I started protesting.
So beware of Karma Royal Group and its fraudsters moving around Goa.
You can imagine what kind of service this CHEAT KARMA ROYAL GROUP might be providing to its members.

Don't buy. Very poor n they trap the people will tell you to scratch the coupon n you may win iPod etc. Not worth to buy
The manner in which R K Arora dt. Jun 12, 2009 has explained this events still prevails in Oct'2012
Royal Karma group is full of cheaters. Their so called agents introduced themselves as students; they were almost everywhere... at Big foot Museum, on Varca beach and even at Dona Paula. We managed to escape within 1.5 hrs back to our hotel. There is no gift and they are into lot of aggressive selling. I learned from fellow tourists that they compelled a few families to use their debit/credit cards for a sum of Rs. 1.5 lacks. They first get you to fill a form wherein they have mentioned in small letters in * mark that a 60 min presentation would be given excluding travel time.
I would like to mention some of their names - Hussain, Shanawaz.

!!! Beware of these Fraudsters and don't waste your valuable time & money falling in their traps!!!
I would request any person that has a complaint/issue with regards to the Karma Royal Group to contact me in the first instance as I would like to assist them to solve their issue. Susan

I am Adison and I am member of Royal India Holiday club (Karma Group ) and they have sold the membership but many things they have hide from me like maintenance cost, not shared utility charges applicable etc they should be honest enough to share all things to customers. I have recently member of this group and I want to sale my membership if any one interested. Plz contact me. I will tell you all things and give this membership in very low prize. This is my number you can call me. (0919950303573)
We have tried a number of times to contact the people that appear here complaining that Karma Royal Resorts is cheating them. Such people are listed here as:Gima, Vicky49, Anupar & others.

As NOT ONE of them have answered the email sent through this website, offering to assist them with their problem we can only conclude that either:

1. Their issue has been resolved but they have not been considerate enough to retract their complaint by posting a further comment.

2. They really are just blowing hot air and making up stories or bending the truth as they have really not understood this membership programme.

3. Possibly they are not real members but aggrieved ex-members of staff who were not efficient in their work and were therefore let go.

If a real complaint exists from any member we urge them to call up the REX department customer services and ask to speak to the Manager there.

We always treat all concerns with respect and care and will state that 99% of the members are very happy with the service they receive. However, there will always be a few people who are never happy WHATEVER we do.
hello frnzz..
even i have encountered d same at varca beach in october 2012 along with my husbad..everything happpend in the same way as mentioned b u people..m posting dis becoz i also got a holiday gift voucher for 7N/8D.. n i was making a booking on dis site to visit kovalam on my 1st anniversery for d same voucher vch i hav recvd from karma group..but wrongly opened this blog n started to go thru..n after reading all such commnts..i have dropped my idea..thank u guyzz for such kind of awareness.
Thanks for sharing this info.. We were in the club mahindra varca beach resort in Goa and one of the guys showed us this voucher at the beach that is open adjacent to the resort. We had a plan to go today morning and some intuition were coming in that these wouldn't be for free... When i checked this article in the morning i dropped my idea and saved 3 hrs conveniently. I was asked by this guy to get a credit card for authentication purpose. I am wondering with such a big hotel would not be transparent enough to disclose upfront about the investment plan so that a person who visits goa has a fair idea on the plan and can attend the same at leisure hrs.
Thanx for the valuable experiences shared by all of you.We were approached by a guy one hour back who almost convinced us by saying exactly the same things mentioned by all of you although my husband is suffering from fever but he forced us to come today only and definitely we are not going to waste our time and energy on these cheaters.

With a fair degree of certainty I can say that those who have written about their so called bad experiences in this forum are NOT the members of Karma Royal Group. I am a satisfied member and I have no hesitation to recommend this group to my friends and relatives. A month ago I was in Goa in two of their resorts. My entire family (wife and two kids) and my in-laws we felt at home through-out our stay of one week (combined). Service, food, hospitality not to mention the courteousness of the staff at both their Hathi Mahal and Monterio facilities were excellent. We have planned our next stay with the group at Bavaria, Germany in the summer.
I also learnt from one of the posts above that most of the people who wrote bad comments were using fake contacts and were unable to be contacted!!! Some people spread wrong rumors and others simply beleive it? Amazing. If you do not want to become a member it is fine. More often than not your decision of not to become a member was driven by the fact that you could not afford it?
It is true that they come to all places in Goa with a lure of many free-bees. I am a member of Mahindra holidays (I am satisfied with them too) and I was staying at varca beach facility when the agents of Karma group approached me. Agent told us that I have won free holidays and in order to claim that I have to attend a presentation at Hathi Mahal
It is also true that they make you sit for 2-3 hours. We sat. We got convinced. We got a good deal after a series of discounts. I also noticed that more than 50% of the people who attended the presentations ended up becoming a member. Incidentally, I met one family (who had become a member alongside of me) this year again at Hathimahal who narrated their experience of Shimla with Karma Royal as excellent. On the day we became member we were even given free lunch for the entire family (four o[censored]s) costing not less that Rs 1500/-
My wife and kid are looking forward to our next vacation with Karma Royal as well as Club Mahindra.
I do not know what to say to those who have not experienced the Royal Resorts / Club Mahindra except that YOU ARE MISSING SOMETING

I totally agree with this complaints. I faced this problem very recently. We fell trap and underwent the same. When we said 'NO' the reaction from the Lady is totally unacceptable. I am least bothered with the Post Sales Support when pre sales mis-behaves with the consumers.
I missed to read this earlier.
Also thanks for the forum as am typing this i got a call from same group and offering 7 day stay in GOA for 5000/- ...

I had declined the offer. Thanks a lot.

I can understand why many people are complaining. We were approached on our honeymoon by a lovely Indonesian guy who told us that if we went to a presentation, he would get $100 and an opportunity of permanent work in Bali. We were happy to give up an hour of our time and hear what they had to say.
To be honest, it is NOT a scam. It is simply very badly applied hard selling from inexperienced people who have been told to follow a process. We told our guy our criteria up front (which we thought would hopefully save time), but alas, he followed the steps: 1, 2, 3. It was tedious. The most commonly employed technique was to ask lots of questions that meant you said "yes". Sales training 101 teaches that the more you can get a potential customer to say "yes", the more likely you are to close the sale. "It's hot today, isn't it?" Our guy overused it and it really turned us off. He also went well over the agreed hour. By they time, it hit an hour and a half, I wasn't interested in buying anything.
I, personally, am not going to invest over $20k based upon 90 minutes of someone talking at me and writing in texta. I need data, something to take away, and time to think. The sales process does not cater for that, hence the high pressure to buy today.
I'm sure there is potential value in this investment, and I have heard great things from people who have joined as members. It's just not for everyone. Do your research, know your criteria, and be prepared and happy to say no under pressure.
We "won" the holiday, yay! However, one of the criteria is that we have to sit through another presentation. I'm not sure I have the patience or the energy...
The same thing goes on in Bali. We were there last month and got scammed by this Karma Royal group big time. Be aware of these guys. The amounts of money that are in the papers and what they actually take from your account are different. And also the hotels aren't as good as they showed us in the presentation. If someone has been able to cancel the contract or contacted lawyers about this, please let us know too.
November 2013. My husband and I agreed to go to the presentation in Goa. We stayed for almost 3 hours and were very interested in becoming members. We requested to go eat lunch because we were starving and to allow us to talk things over. At that time, the "manager" became very ugly and hostile. He thought he was funny and charming, but when I said we are going to talk about things and come back, his comment was "I only know two people who have ever left and come back--Jesus Christ and Arnold Schwartzenneger." I'm hard to offend, but i thought that was really inappropriate from a professional, and I'm really glad they showed their true colors to us before we handed over 6 lakhs for membership and about another 3 lakhs in maintenance over 25 years. We are financially secure and love to travel, so it sounded ideal. But, they can't expect, or shouldn't expect, people to make a split decision involving such a large amount of money after listening to someone talk about a point structure, draw diagrams, and flip through some pictures on the Internet. In addition to the 9 lakhs over 25 years, the way and amount we travel, we would still be spending a lot out of pocket covering additional stays and using resorts in their exchange program since it really only comes out to a week of vacation every 2 years--not enough incentive in my opinion. So, in the long run, if we continue to invest our money wisely over the next 25 years and pay for our vacations as we do, we will come out way ahead financially and with less headache than dealing with this group.
We were in Bali last month and also got fooled into putting down a deposit, cannot believe we were so stupid! They were aggressive and when we said no just kept on offering us a 'better deal'! I have been in contact with them because they gave us some incorrect information and based on this have asked for our deposit back and to cancel the membership but after a few emails back and forth basically saying they are not going to refund or cancel and now they have not replied to my last email. Was wondering if we could just cancel the card the payments are coming out of and whether if we do this they could take it further?

I wish I have posted my experience
earlier so that I could have protected

some innocent people in this trap.

Let me
explain what happened to me.( membership.(RIHC1/040809/5566-165points)

I spent three and
half lakhs rupees, wasted so much of my precious time over last four
years and did not even have a single day of
holiday theirs or alliance resort (GAP
Resort) over these three years.

Since I am mailing to few
other people let me explain you how it all started.

I was holidaying in Club
Mahindra Goa, with my & my brother-in- laws family in August 2009.

While I am there one
of my friend called me from UK (Dr Rai) and during the conversation he asked me
that he and his friend family are coming to Goa in December that year and asked
me whether I can book them a resort while I am there. I asked at Club Mahindra
but they said they only offer to Club Mahindra Members.

Then I met this sales man
in Private Beach of Club Mahindra (I feel they should not have allowed these
thugs to enter their private beach) offering visit to Haathi mahal and offering
free gift. I was not at interested in gifts but I thought I can book resort to
my friend if it looks okay.

Then I met another sales
man (I can’t remember the name now-Arif/Asif) in Club Mhahindra. This guy insisted me that I should
take whole family including kids there and checked I have got credit card. Also said it
won’t take more than an hour. So I and my Brother-in –laws family visited
Haathi Mahal on 4th August 2009

When I went Haathi Mahal
they checked I have a valid credit Card

We were through the session
of explanations about Karma Royal Resorts by Neelu Menom which lasted nearly
one and half to two hour though in beginning only telling her intention of my
visit. (To book a paid resort to my Friend). Then we were joined by Jessica
Gracias. They both insisted that I should take membership which is available at
discounted rate only today and sign the membership for three lacks.

Next one hour and half hour
is most horrible time of Holiday in Goa.

I must have told atleast
25times I am not interested in Membership.

Ever time when I say no
they came up how best holiday I can have in Next 25 years across the world for
Pea nuts.

Frequently I was stopped
abruptly during conversation.

I said I don’t want any
free gifts, let me go-For that Jessica Gracias said I wasted
three hours of their time.

They made me looks
small in front of children. (As if I am
refusing to buy 1 rupee ice cream for them)

They Insulted My
Profession (You are such a big Doctor in United Kingdom cant you afford Pea nuts
for happiness of your family)

Least to say their tactics
are disgusting...

Finally under the
pressure I agreed to take the membership.

Initially they said I have
to pay Rs 35, 000 and rest of 3 lakhs over five Years. Since I did not proof of
address in India they forced me to pay all Rs 323, 112.00 which I
did with my Credit Card and signed the membership.(RIHC1/040809/5566-165points)

All I got was Vouchers of a
week holidays for two families.

Free Holiday
Vouchers

I try to use these vouchers
to book holiday for my friends (Dr Rai & Peter Fox) who were visiting India
in December 2009. They wanted only four day holidays in Goa as rest of the tour
was fixed. But they refused give holidays any of your resort in Goa on these
specific dates. My friends refused your dates of offer, vouchers went waste and
I wasted so much time...

I sent E mail asking
whether I can use it in future; I did not get any reply.

Holidays I
enjoyed next three Years…

Like a fool I
try to enjoy the forced relationship. I paid next
two year of membership.(Rs 15, 000 each year).

But when I tried to book
holiday, response I got was

The Resort you have asked
not affiliated us any more…

That Resort is not
available in that period

But we have other resort,
at other place, at other date (when children having school) with an extra cost…

And I wasted so much of
time…

Only holiday booked was,
last year two days of holiday was booked at royal palms for my friend (Dr
Praksh Raviraj). That also he wanted at Hathi Mahal which was refused. (Though
it was available from other Holiday web sites) and feedback I got from him is
that is a filthy place.

After trying hard to book holiday
this year decided not to pay any more for membership.

It is shame
that company like this still exit, even after so much evidence available on
line that how big a scammer, cheater and liars are…

The company
says do charity for children, But bl… use children for cunning scam…

If it had happened in
western countries, company like this would have closed long before and probably
few people behind the bars as well.

That wasn’t first time I
visited Goa (But will probably the last time)

I gave All India
Postgraduate medical entrance examinations in Goa in 1990. I came with few
friends stayed few days afterwards. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Goa. The
hotel we stayed wasn’t posh but people were honest.

That trip is still in my
memory.

I spent first 30 years in
India and I love my country

But I haven’t come across this high
level professional cunning people before.

It not the first time
somebody approached me for holiday membership. When I was in club Mahindra
their sale man called and explained me about their membership. He did not check weather I have got credit
card or not, he did not ask my
profession, did not make me look
small in front women and children and more importantly at end of meeting I
told him I will look in to it and comeback if I am interested. He respected that.

At any time if I want
holiday membership I will take from Club Mahindra.

Unfortunately I don’t have
time to put case against them..

But I have got stronger
weapon…

I will
use next of 21 years of membership year in Social net work site, forms, blog…
explaining what happened to me in Goa. & Karma Royal Resorts

It has got the Power. It
has brought down Dictators in Egypt, Libya and in many part of the world…
