I really don't know what all the fuss is about. We were recently on vacation in Goa and were approached by a well groomed young man who explained to us that the company he was working for is offering a promotion and that if we had the time to accompany him to their resort for a presentation. We were a bit taken aback but after chatting for a while the decision to go was left entirely upto us and we decided let's give it a try. So we did. And we were very impressed with the professional courtesy shown to us during our time with the sales team who took every effort to explain to us the benefits of vacationing with them. The entire experience was very pleasing and they were all very warm and welcoming. Our time spent on the resort was an eye opener even though we are frequent travellers to Goa; we were immediately impressed and did buy. I was then very surprised to hear some others talk about the complaints and the supposedly "kidnapping" that happens and were curious to see what was being said. After our experience with the resort and personnel we find this to be utterly out of hand and a seemingly malicious attack on a group that dealt with us professionally and ethically. While it is easy to spew rubbish on the Internet all of these complaints seemed aimed at a a company who is merely utilising a process that is also for your information widely used in Spain, Greece and number of other destinations with huge success rates; this post is meant for those who do view this page and to please use your common sense before judging the group! What works for one and does not work for the others should not be a reason for everyone to judge just because it is on the Internet. Thank you.

My husband I went to the promotional chat under no illusions after winning a scratch card. This type of timeshare has been going on for many years and has it pros and cons. They don't give you the details of how much the time share is as its thousands and would be off putting so they build up to it but you always have a choice and for some it is good others it's not. If a couple of hours is important to you and if you don't have thousands of dollars then save yourself the trip and don't go ...simple... the prize will always be a trip within their resort which may or may not be worth it ...you decide. the company have 4 resorts in goa,
im invited baga area resorts,
the resort is really 3star, room is luxury, i really like service during attend prasantation, so thats why i joint membership, and after joint membership im giong very next day to 2nd resort royal hathi mahal south goa,
im entering hathi mahal resorts belive me guys is owesom resorts like forein contry, im meet many member in resorts, mostly member say we are happy thats why we are holiday in hathi mahal,
many facility in resorts like supet market, rey ben show room, diamond show room, movie room, game zone, 5 swimming pool, 2 kids swiming pool, every thing is inside,
i really enjoy that day,
im tottaly nagative after read this review, bt after visit hathi mahal reosrts and meet many member now im relax,
so i suggesting all people please visite hathi mahal resorts goa after joining membership.

Even we were also approached by one of there agents Shyam babu at varca beach goa but WE got a overwhelming response when we reached there site office near hathi mahal in south Goa ..we to won a week long stay at one of there resorts ... we were given the free transportation for to and fro from our Resorts .. nothing looked fake or suspicious about there efforts . They offer discounted holiday in their Goa Resorts (Benallium) to market their membership product. We were also trapped similarly. Pls enjoy their discounted holiday accommodation, but never buy the membership. You will never get any reservation when you want to go on a holiday. The marketing team is highly competent but the call center for booking and servicing is pathetic. They give you all the rosy picture about their holiday model and tempt you to buytheir membership, Once you pay all the money, they will show you their true color. You would never get any booking even if you try 6 months in advance. I think all the deceived members who are victim of this big fraud company should come together and fight legally to teach them a lesson. I request all the members to post here and form a group to fight together to stop these big time fraudsters!!! I request all of you to quickly join the group ([protected]@googlegroups.com). Let us all get together and fight united!
I have had a similar experience with Karma while holidaying in Goa two years ago. I was fooled into buying their scheme which cost me Rs. 3 lakh and every two years, I got to pay about Rs 21, 000 at today's rate. This will obviously go up over time. When I became a member, they promised that they are coming up with several other resorts in India which is absolutely untrue. What is more appalling is that you can in any case stay in Karma's resorts without becoming a member. That would be a lot more economical than enrolling as a member!

I am a member of this Royal company. Their resorts are never available when you want. You have to write multiple reminders to get any response. Some of their resorts are not at all good. We ended up in their kovallam resort which was similar to my college Hostel, except was filthy. We have not been able to use this membership at all. In comparison our club mahindra membership is 100 times better. I don't know how I can get rid of this timeshare. Stay away pls.

i agree with him .royal Resorts started as Good company but today they are in the business of Cheating .Everyone should be careful not to fall in there trap
We are stuck with ROYAL / KARMA for past 15 years as members. It is a FRAUD BUSINESS. Rather all TIME SHARE BUSINESS today is a Fraud in the market.
Here are the pointers:
1. Ask them if every room/unit has been allotted to just 52 members. As 1 year has 52 weeks. Technically considering a unit can have only 52 members as it is maximum 7 days we get as part of membership. Now a new theory has been introduced, convert the week to points. Now no checks and balance. Have 100 members or 1000 members per unit or may be more.
2. Now comes the catch 22. You are not done with the 3 to 10 lacs of hard earned money. You will have to pay maintenance which could range from 15, 000 going upto 30, 000 per year. This is CRAP.
Here is a math: Invest 3 to 10 Lacs in a Fixed Deposit on annual basis. Let us calculate interest of @8%. Rs 3 Lacs will transform to Rs 24, 000 per annum. If you are smart and invest in Mutual Funds etc you could even make @10% to 14%.
Rs 10 Lacs per annum will transform to Rs 1 Lac.
Now imagine if you would have to book a hotel like TAJ / HILTON or 5 star of your choice, how much would you spending in low season... may be Rs 5, 000 per night. 7 nights would come for Rs 35, 000. Remember 5 star hotel is a full service hotel. Now you land up spending 24, 000 (interest) 15, 000 (maintenance)... which is equals to Rs 35, 000. Now you have lost your principal of Rs 3 Lacs as well. You will not get to choose a good destination and choice hotel. Can you visit property 100 times? Think twice.
I gave an example for LOW SEASON / LEAN SEASON. You could do above math even for Rs 10 Lac membership.
3. All these bogus time share will be on Internet selling/retailing member properties on MAKEMYTRIP / BOOKING.COM / and other travel portals. They will sell a concept that few properties are Hotel category.
4. No monitoring system in place in the country for such Time Share business. There is no one monitoring them.
BEFORE YOU LAND IN A TRAP, BEWARE. PLEASE DO NOT INVEST YOUR MONEY IN BOGUS TIME SHARE SCHEMES.
Remember there is no law in the country controlling/monitoring them.

i totally agree with Mr.Ravi.My husband and i were approached in Goa a few days back.They kept coming every day at different beachespleading us to come.Last day we had to check out at 11AM and our travel was scheduled at 6PM.So we went what was supposed to be 1 hour went on for 4hours.The presentation was good.My husband and i kept saying we will not pay anything today itself.Dont push us.We need time and dont need discounts.

Then when we were firm about not shelling any money then and there, as we have lot of prior commitments.Lady made some nasty comments then why are you on a trip right now. You are wasting good money et al.

Do not want to put money in trusts, nationalised institutions are always safe and if anybody demands and presses you for instant money without giving you time to review, then never fall for it.
Plus side we had already wrapped our holiday, so got to see the resort hathi mahal, it is beautiful.DO not know how efficient mebership is.

I am the victim of this fraud, lost about 1.25 lac Rs. becoming the member of this group.. planned holidays several times in 2 years but never got the availability anywhere.. They are not bothered to revert back by themselves when you approach for booking... gave up after so much disappointment...

Thanks a lot! You saved us. Today in goa we were approached by a guy with some coupons. And of course as part of their plan, we won. We were told to accompany him to the hotel. But I thought it to be fishy and told him that we had some plans for that day and would visit them the other day. And then I searched them on net and found this site! Thanks a lot u saved us.
