[Resolved]  Karma Royal Resorts — Cheating innocent visitors coming to Goa

By this piece of complaint I want to warn unsuspected travellers who waste their precious holiday time and are being cheated by this so called cheat comapny called Karma Royal Group. <br />
The modus operandi is that travellers moving aroung Goa on Holidays are approached by their agents (whom they themself call kidnapper) giving lure of prize vouchers containg false promises on free stay, ipod, restaurant vounchers, boating trips etc. They convince the unsuspected travellers that they are just promoting their resorts and want to publicise the same by providing free stays etc. and would like to take them to show the resort .<br />
Once the traveller who has come to Goa on holiday by spending money on travel and hotels etc. falls into their trap of free stay and other instant prizes to be given and agrees to come along with them, he is picked by the kidnapper and taken to their resort. <br />
Once you are there, without any consideration their actors just start playing drama introducing different persons and you are made to sit with your entire family for listening their non-stop commentary on resorts, time share plans, how you are wasting your life without joing them and other type of brain washing exercises. After 2-3 hours of non stop commentaries by different digfferent persons they start presurrising you to agree to take their membership which costs 3-4 lakhs.<br />
The real colous appear when you refuse to take that and asks for the prizes promised. Than comes some bouncer type persons in picture who would inform you that you are not entitled for any of the instant prizes and you should just take a voucher, which you obviously would not be able to use and leave.<br />
If you demand your promised prize they imkeditaely start misbehaving.<br />
By the time you learn your mistake you had already lost your one day for which you had paid money to your hotel and you had come so far away from your home to enjoy holidays.<br />
Despite being aware of such cheats I myself became their victim when they assured me that I should just listen to their resort promotion for one hour and I would be provided free stay immediately after that, than and there.<br />
But when I demanded the assured prize I was told restaurent is closed, boat trip timings are over, free stay only with 2 months advance booking and like that. That bugger became so rude and abusive when I started protesting.<br />
So beware of Karma Royal Group and its fraudsters moving around Goa. <br />
You can imagine what kind of service this CHEAT KARMA ROYAL GROUP might be providing to its members.

Karma Royal group are very aggressive in their marketing. If you are a member, you will get what they have promised. If you are visiting their site, they will chew your brains till you sign up for a membership. If as a member you go and stay at your resort, they will chew your brains till you upgrade your membership. They are polished and smooth talkers. stay away.
Despite numerous attmepts to contact the person named mrshetty (as listed in this site) he is not responding to the Company since 2012.

Thus this comment he made in Jan 2014 is totally irrelevant and out of date by 2 years.

At that time (June 2012) they replied to him to open a discussion on the issue in the hope of resolving this. However, since then he has not responded to any contact attempts made - both by telephone or email.

NO resolutions can ever me made when only one party is prepared to communicate with the other.

Please Dr Shetty - contact me if you really do wish for a resolution to your issues.

I dont agree with what has been posted here. We went there for the presentation and no one threatened or got in bouncers. They told us clearly that we can either say yes or no, no other answers will be allowed.

The presentation was long-winded by it was fine.
yes i too have a same experience last week. i wasted my half day in my holiday period. Unfortunately I escaped from this trap. They Started asking me to pay 5 lakhs then and there. After i refused ...they pressurised me to pay 3lakhs...after my no come to 1lakh...finally they come down up to Rs.25000/- as i said even a single rupees also i should have a time to think and cannot pay then and there and came out.
Please be careful while roaming in Goa. May be advantage for us but the pre sale way is not suitable for salaried persons. Could for creamy layer peoples.
hi arlette...yes i agree that they told us we can either say yes or no. bu the way they are travelling hole presentations is to make us to say yes only.
this is true...i request all of my friends to be aware of these cheatings and dont loose ur money and precious time...if anybody contacts u then ask the local person for help and never go the program that the person is asking to come and waste ur time...so be aware.
We were unfortunately fooled into buying membership in Bali, 5 star in Goa? No way, Haati Mahal Hotel is about 2.5 star. I wish I'd seen this before we fell into their trap, now we are stuck with it for 25 years and have lost our money, plus we have to pay $800 a year 'maintenance' which certainly wasn;t used at Haati Mahal.
Karma Group Resorts are BIG, BIG, BIG CHEATS. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get trapped by them. I have lost IRS 400, 000/-
Excellent mate. I was also approached by the same group guy. He got some cards and gave two cards for me and my wife. I got a bull and my wife got some prize and then he told it will be given only on that spot. I felt something fishy and told the guy that I will confirm tomorrow morning. Now Google ed about the group. ... Got your post. Thank you...
We went to a presentation at Seminyak Bali. The amount to pay over 5 years-$25000 US for 25 year membership, plus the $1006 US annual fee plus up to 500 per week for the accommodation adds up to $2500 for the first week each year makes it fairly expensive by our standards. When I did the math fairly quickly in my head and pointed out the obvious, the salesman ( an Englishman) got quite abrupt and said we may as well leave as were wasting our time which was quite true. We did get 4 free T shirts! (haha) and a free weeks accommodation we might or might not try and claim. I personally would like to try claiming, just to see if that much is legit, because we love Bali and would like to come back.
I am above to take the membership.. Have made initial payment, before clearing would like to hear from existing members, is that true that this organization is not what they say..
I wonder why only people who did not join are complaining.

I hv also wasted time there, people are rude and nonsense, nvr purchase their membership, they treat as we are beggars came to their doors for a free gift. They don't know how to treat customers. Really disappointed
I have been a member for 3 years in Bali and we love the system! Already have made our money back as we love to holiday. The resorts are beautiful spent a month in Thailand at no cost!!! The marketing was frightening at first (getting put in a random taxi) but we were treated well by all the staff members and they are now like a family. We have been back to visit them since at their sales office and they still remember us by name! Don't judge by someone who isn't a member... take it from 2 very happy members we wouldn't have our holidays any other way!!
I humbly disagree withall the negative comments. I am an NRI, my family &amp; I visited Goa in 2011. The marketing people approached us the same way many have said earlier. We refused the first time. However, we accepted the second time. We received their free stay voucher for 7 days and we spent the free stay at The Grove, Kumarokom, Kerela. It was so beautiful property &amp; had a good review of their organisation &amp; properties throughout the world. We became a member. Since then we have visited their properties in Bali, The Royal Beach Club Seminyak where we also paid a courtesy call at their Management office &amp; met all of them. They showed us excellent hospitality &amp; welcomed us with great smile.

We have also visited their property in Bangkok/Pattayah in 2014 &amp; The Grove again in 2014. I think the marketing people should change their approach &amp; be more professional so that people will be comfortable in talking to them. We have a number of good friends whom we communicate regularly.
It is entirely up to you whether you want to become a member or not. There is really no force, but they show aggressive approach.
However, their after sale service is excellent &amp; the staff are very polite &amp; helpful. We are already planning our 2015 holiday with them &amp; waiting for their sales promotion. My compliments. Michael

Right from the sales guy to the marketing Manager all are cheaters!
They have two separate sets of their gift cards, they bully customers by giving the unlucky one to the Male &amp; the one with gifts to the female. This is their knack of attracting customers. They specify on the card that there is no cost, no obligation whatsoever. But they do not follow this.
In fact, the marketing guy also shows you ways to cheat other people by buying this membership. They say if you buy this, its free for you anyway, so you can ask your friends or family to pay you a required amount and arrange their trip, so in the bargain you are making money.
They give you a rate of 7+ lacs and say that its negotiable. Then they tell you today is the last day and we have a discount so you pay 3+ lacs again that is negotiable. They talk ill about their own colleagues only to attract your investment. The guy we spoke to is Valentino Dias.
They have pre decided what they need to give to which customer, and if you say NO to invest they use their code language to discuss and offer you only the stay at their hotels. They avoid scratching the gift card if you say NO to invest and avoid giving you the other gifts like camera, cell phone, Ipad.
People its time to disclose such fraud companies, please don't get into this scams. Please start being alert and especially with Karma Group of Hotels.
I have got the offer to stay in RGBC Banaulim Goa for 4 days and with only obligation to attend their preview of 1.5 hour. We enjoyed our 4 days of stay and just had to spent half day with the Royal karma group to attend their preview. During the presentation this marketing guy has made lot of claims and I got really impressive.
Mr. Masood Marketing guy was very co-operative and from start he was insisting on clear yes or no.
I didn't purchased the plan due to following reason,
1.These people expect people should buy plan costing in lakhs in just 1.5 hours time which is not possible as I thinks a lot when it is investing hard earned money
2. Annual maintenance charges are too high around 10K which makes it less attractive.You have to pay these for next 25 years and can increase with inflation hence it does not seam attractive.
iT happened the same with me. As I had similar experience with Club Mahindra Sales Team, so i got
not trapped. The taxi driver with us seen when they have approached, The taxi driver has fired them and said to these agent that, dont cheat and helped us to understand the modus operandi. In club mahindra these front team consists of qualified and well behaved people may be MBA or more but they were very much professional cheaters, and later when u visit to their presentation, their volatile behaviour itself pressurises visitors to take their membership, if he is not well educated and smart. Club mahindra people gives prizes but when u did not join, u will ultimately throw these prizes because of their behaviour and feeling they pass because of inferiority complex. Many time i said dont call but i get invitation repeatedly and many times i accept so that they will stop later on calling. I complained about these people with Club Mahindra and they promises of taking action after taking full details, Lo again you got confused whether they are good or bad.
I had similar experience too in Bali yesterday 27 July. While waiting for a taxi in Kuta beach someone approached us and invited to see the new hotel facility in Jimbaran area. After quite long discussion and considering the vouchers he promised we finally accepted his invitation to visit the new hotel. A free taxi took us to get there, BUT we arrived in the office only and were asked to fill a form with our personal data (name, birthday, profession, email, the hotel we are currently staying etc) AND then they said that they unfortunately have no personal to guide us through the hotel facility, AND furthermore asked us to seek the hotel facility information from their website.
We find Karma Royal Group is NOT serious, with this kind of trick they are getting only BAD Reputation. So just keep away from their offers and do not believe all the vouchers what they are promising. (Bali 28 July 2015).
