[Resolved]  Kazo — SALE OF DEFECTIVE ITEM AND THEN IRRESPONSIBILITY IN REPLACEMENT

I had purchased a top from the brand KAZO two months back for Rs.699. The store I had purchased is located in Select City Walk Mall in Saket. One day later I realized that the product was defective. Since the Price Tag was not removed, I returned the top in the store with the promise that the top would be replaced after two weeks. After that I visited the store on three occasions over a period of three months. The first two times the store keepers expressed their inability to replace the item due to shortage of a similar item. I was also informed by the store in question that they had a branch in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and that the replacement could be carried out there as well. So I visited Gurgaon and discovered that the store was closed.

The last time I visited the Saket store on 21st July, the store keeper refused to replace the item citing some unheard of discount rule. He also asked me to collect an item of the discounted price. I agreed to that even and also agreed to pay the difference in price if i choose an item of higher value. Then he made up some exorbitant rule and refused any discount on the new item and asked me to pay the full amount minus the Rs. 452 (which happened to the discounted price of the item I had purchased 3 months earlier)

I have faced a lot of harassment at the hands of a brand that I could have trusted for their reputation of service. Considering that I am an outstation student of Delhi University, I have also to be careful with my finances and travel schedule. After all these I was made to travel thrice to Saket from near the University North Campus and once to Gurgaon. I should in a sense press damages against the brand.

My policy no[protected] issued by LIC, Padrauna branch (UP) has been matured on 28/02/09 & although I have sent original policy & Discharge Voucher on 25th Feb’09 and send 2 reminder letters but I have neither received maturity & balance installments nor any response. One mail sent to Sr. Divisional Manager at LIC, Gorakhpur is attached for your ready reference.

I request you to pl use your good office to get the due amount released at the earliest.
