[Resolved]  Kingfisher — Not permitted to Check In

Myself and my wife were supposed to travel to Cochin today (21/08/10) from Chennai by IT2481 which was scheduled to depart by 6:20 AM. My wife is pregnant and we were going for her medical treatment. We reached Airport by 5:40 AM and a Kingfisher employee helped us to carry our luggage from cab and lead us to baggage scanning area. Within 15 minutes all procedures were completed and our bags got scanned, cleared & sealed. Then he led us to a counter to get our boarding pass.
The officer there wrote "6:01 AM as reporting time" in my ticket and asked the Kingfisher employee, who was guiding us, to take us to another Kingfisher executive named Silvia. She informed us that we can’t take the flight as we have reported late and there is no seat for us. I informed her about the medical situation that we were undergoing but she was not willing to hear anything from us. She was doing some other work and was also not willing to look at our face.
We were neglected like untouchable and we waited before her for 10 minutes. The person who was guiding us also informed her that we reached airport by 5:40 AM. We don’t want to dispute anything but there is something called customer friendliness and work ethics which Silvia does not have. I am not travelling in flight for the first time. Last time, when I travelled in Indigo I reached airport 15 minutes before takeoff, but their employees were so happy to take initiatives to make sure that I board in that flight.
This is something that Kingfisher employees in Chennai lack. Miss Silvia was very arrogant in her behaviour and was not even giving any guidance about what to do at this situation. She was not checking for any alternatives, she was not checking for any other alternate conveyance available and her behaviour was such that one will feel like she wanted to say “get out from my vicinity”.
I went to airport manager for help and assistance. He warmly welcomed us, gave a seat for me and my pregnant wife and also conveyed message of relief knowing that we were panicked (This was something that Kingfisher employee Silvia would have done). We came to know from him that many passengers just like us have complained about this kind of behaviour from Kingfisher employees in Chennai Airport.
I want Kingfisher authorities to take this very seriously. This is something which degrades your name and reputation. I want to list out the lose which I inquired by this attitude show off from your employees.
I lost my entire money I spent for your ticket.
I missed doctor consultation.
My wife missed her NABARD employment exam which is scheduled tomorrow morning.
I lost Rs. 22,000 by booking another ticket to go to Cochin tomorrow.
I want a proper answer for all my grievances. I want to get compensated for all my loses.
