[Resolved] LG Washing Machine (Tromm) — PCB complaint in LG washing machine | |||
Sir, My name is Arun (from Ernakulam, Kerala) ([protected]) I had bought a LG front loading model (TROMM) 3 years back for around 26000/-. Now the problem with the washing machine is it does not stop running. For example, if I set the time as 30 minutes, the count down timer will come down till 5 or 6 minutes left and then go back to 12 or 15 minutes. This will repeat again when the time left reaches 5 or 6 minutes. This means the washing machine will keep on running. I had waited for even 4 to 5 hours for the machine to stop running. But the machine will keep on running and finally I have to turn off the power and take the clothes out. My understanding is, the issue with the machine is some error in the program. There is no mechanical issues with the machine. I called up the customer care and logged the complaint. The service guy came home and checked the machine and told that the issue is with the PCB. He told that there is no repair for the PCB and hence the PCB have to be replaced for a price of around 4500/-. My expectation was that the service guy will re program the machine and the issue will be fixed. It was a surprise for me to know that the solution that the LG service center provide for a program error is to replace the PCB. Its pathetic that after spending 26000 for a washing machine, I need to spend another 4500 with in 3 years for a minor program error. I would like to bring into the notice of the authorities and people about the poor quality of the PCB in LG washing machine and how much the customers are being cheated after spending their money on products like this. hi sirThis is varadharajan mobile no: [protected] 26th of Feb i brought one LG front loaded washing machine one day only i used from next day it was not working complaint given and service engg came and gone for four days but they cant able to rectified it 5th day they said we will take for replacement but sill now i didn't get any replacement i trust LG product but LG have cheated me i need replacement in 2 days other wise i will never recommend this LG for any product if i cane to know i will go for another product

My Name is Vinod Kumar. I am staying in Pune Hadapsar, I purchased the L.G.Washing machine in 2010 with cost of 22, 000/-. With in 2 years, washing machine was not working and I logged the complaint and Person came to my home and he told that he is issue with PCB. and total charge for replacing the PCB is 5, 000/-.. I bought the L.G.Washing based on the Brand Name, but it seems L.G.Washing machine is poor quality as compared to the local washing machines.
Its pathetic that after spending 22000 for a washing machine, I need to spend another 4500 with in 2 years for a minor program error.
I would like to bring into the notice of the authorities and people about the poor quality of the PCB in LG washing machine
and how much the customers are being cheated after spending their money on products like this.

Totally agree with everyone here--especially with Arun who probably suffers like all the rest o[censored]s here in the Ernakulam district from the abysmal service provided by the local LG "Service" Centre. I've also lodged a complaint with the Indian Consumer Complaints Forum about my LG Washer/Dryer combination and the terrible service I have received locally.
I fully agree with all here that LG machines suffer from some serious problems. But I especially agree with Arun from Ernakulam Kerala who has to suffer like the rest o[censored]s here with the abysmal "service" offered by the LG Service Centre in Ernakulam! My machine has been under service at least 15 times in the last three years, has never been properly repaired (and yes, also had to purchase a replacement PCB!). The machine is now back from it's latest trip to the service centre making so much noise that a person cannot bear to be in the same room with it when it's operating! The Service Centre promised to come back and fix it but, of course and like usual, never did. The Service Centre never comes with they have made an appointment and seems less than bothered! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG APPLIANCE THAT MAY HAVE TO BE SERVICED BY THE ERNAKULAM SERVICE CENTRE! I have also mentioned this problem to the manger of the appliance store where I purchased it and he says that they are well aware of the servicing problem with the local LG Service Centre and he has heard the same from many of his customers. Be warned!
My name is George Thomas. I am staying at Thiruvalla, Kerala. I had a 2 year old LG washing machine, bought in June 2011 for 21000 rupees. A couple of days ago the machine doesn't start. Just beeping all the time. I contacted the Customer support through the dealer. A technician came today and checked the machine and decided that the PCB unit is defected. It will cost more than 6000 Rupees.
Even if the machine is 2 years old, we haven't used the machine more than 2 months ( use only when we we are coming for vacation). We thought that a reputed company like LG do have some quality in their components, specially expensive component like this. We are totally disappointed on LG washing machine. Never going to recommend any one.

My machine went into the workshop once again as the Ernakulam service technician said it need bearings replaced to stop the noise. No one can prove that it was not making this noise before they took it (as it definitely wasn't!) so I had to suffer the expense. Once again. Then they returned it with the "catch" on the filter door unable to keep the door closed and since my machine is black, it looked really nice in the kitchen hanging open and exposing the white behind! They firstly, after my phone call, denied that they had done it. Not until yet another serviceman came and inspected it was it grudgingly accepted that it had been done by them (especially after I pointed out to them that their workshop driver himself opened it before it went to the last service to drain it and there was nothing wrong). Finally after yet another week they brought the same filter door back with the news that they had "heated" and bent the catch so that it now holds. I'm now afraid to open it again to clean the filter (which should be done periodically, of course). The machine seems to be working fine again, but, given its history and the incompetence of the Ernakulam "Service" Centre, I'm just awaiting its next breakdown! NEVER AGAIN!

If its moisture or something similar which caused the problem, why not try applying a little hot air. I took my hair-drier and held its air towards the 'Start' button for nearly half a minute. Bingo...! The machine is started. I just completed one wash. Let me see how long it lasts.

Hi, I'm Ajith from Bengaluru. I'm facing the same issue as Girish from Delhi above. The sad part is, the service engineer didn't know anything much about the problem nor was he interested to talk further. He took his visit charges and left saying only option is to change the PCB which costs 3k!

BUT ON INQUIRY WITH LG SERVICE CENTRE & IT'S CUSTOMER CARE I GOT THE REPLY THAT PCB IS NOT AVAILABLE WITH COMPANY & NOW YOUR MACHINE IS USELESS. Hi, My Name is Amit Dixit (Pune) and I had purchased LG front loaded Automatic washing machine 5.5 KG. Right after 2 years it stopped working. Technician says that PCB needs to be replaced and the cost will be INR 7850 and new replaced PCB will have the same numbers (many numbers on PCB board) so I am not sure how can I ensure that he is giving me a new one or just repairing my PCB after informing me that it can not be repaired and needs to be replaced with LG.He told me that with new PCB, Ill get two years of warranty. The new machine has only one year warranty and the PCB has 2 years of warranty strange.
Whatever it is but I will not buy any LG product going forward and will suggest others for the same.

Same here. I had paid Rs 2500 but within no time of two months it stop working again. Really they are supplying poor quality of product in high range. We must avoid this company.
My name is Swetha and I am from Nellore Andhra Pradesh . We bought LG in 2012, and asked for the Demo and no one turned up for 2 years . They only showed up after to and fro emails in 2014, after the demo washing machine worked for 3 months and within 3 months it stopped working and the technician said due to PCB board error . We replaced the board around 4 times which is worthless it seems . My mom want to buy another brand but due to my father insistence she agreed for LG . It's very frustrating to deal with the service center, no one answer the calls and even the technician does not show up even after the repeated calls . After PCB replacing with in one month again same issue . I wouldn't highly recommend any LG product . No proper response and the service centers are mere waste .
