[Resolved]  Matrix Cellular — International SIM Card not working

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

I picked up a Thailand SIM (Mob.No.+[protected] from ur Bangalore Sales Exec Ms.Shiva (Mob no.[protected]) on 17/08/11. After giving me that SIM and leaving my office she called me back requesting me to take another SIM as she had promised her boss that she would sell 2 connections. When I told her that i do not need 2, she said she would pay the Rs.500/- for the card on my behalf. But I did agree to take it (Mob No. +[protected] and asked her to charge both SIMs on my Credit Card. She then promised me that both the SIMs will be activated when I land in Bangkok on the 26th Aug'11.

I left for Thailand on the 26th and when i landed in Bangkok, I switched on both the numbers and only the 1st SIM was working. So I called Ms.Shiva from Bangkok (my first forced call) to inform her that the 2nd SIM was not yet activated and again she promised me that it would be done by the next day morning which ofcourse was not the case till the end of my trip on the 3rd Sep'11. She didn't even have the courtesy to call (as the customers have free incoming) to enquire if the 2nd SIM was activated or not.

The main aspect of running a Services company is the PR involved. Atleast she should have called on my return (the return date is mentioned on your Customer Agreement Form) to enquire or apologise for the shabby service from Matrix as she was my only contact with Matrix until then.

Then when ur collections exec. came on Tuesday the 6th Sep'11 to collect the SIMs, I called her to give my feedback and as what my further actions would be on the subject and she said that she had sent a mail to the Connection Dept regarding the issue and that was the end of her duties. Ms.Shiva then offered to pay the Rs.500/- to cover for my loss as though her Rs.500/- was of great financial need to me.
Ms.Shiva then put me on to her senior who echoed the same view as her subordinate . When I went to Thailand I realised that I could have taken a SIM at the Bangkok airport and saved so much more with lesser problems. Their call rates are 3 THB per minute to India and 1 THB to the US.

I work in a Service Providing company and I wouldn’t dare not call back my client to ask for feedback as we grow mainly by word of mouth and mind you that spreads quickly.
This complaint will be very shortly put up on the Consumer Forum to advice people on the perils of taking a Matrix SIM and also to advice them of available options at the airports in every country they travel. I have already forwarded this to my friends and family who travel a lot and hope to alert the general public through the Consumer Forum

Nikhil Baliga.
