[Resolved]  Meru Cabs Bangalore — Extremely Poor service / No Service

I am deeply disappointed witth the fall in level of services of Meru cabs.
Earlier, i used to recommend Meru cab service to one and all. Now I will be the last person in the worl;d to take meru cabs.
I booked a cab after cricvket match in chinnaswamy stadium. Booking was confirmed .I got sms. Driver gave me a missed call 20 mins before the time. I called him and he confirmed that he is waiting. I went out with my family and cab was no where. I was not even one minute late. I called up the driver and he told he has picked some other passenger. May be he would have got very good money as it was a match day. I called up meru help desk. Their agent just said he is trying to call the driver but he is nnot picking. I was stranded on road with my family at midnite because of pathetic Meru cab service.
Extremely disappointed

Rash driving complaint

This evening 23 Oct at 1830 hrs on airport road...the driver of your cab No KA ??... D 3520 was driving in a dangerous manner posing a hazard to other road users

He was diving through narrow gaps to get to the head of the queue at the traffic lights, to turn right leading to Trinity Church

He must have missed the left side of my vehicle by inches, if not millimeters.

He had one wheel each side of the lane dividing white line

Presumabely you have guidelines for your drivers. If so...they are not following them

With all your claims to excellence and safety, your drivers should be instructed to await their turn in the required lane. Not cause a hazard to try and save a minute at best

You need to suspend the driver of this vehicle...he is a menace to other traffic users.

Worse still...on your telephonic FEEDBACK, I tried making this complaint ...only to be kept on hold for minutes on end.

Kindly do the courtsey of having someone from your complaints department respond to this ... next step...the newspapers !!!
Well I also had a bitter experience with Meru Cabs. Like you I used to recommend them. But I feel that their service is getting worse day by day.

I was going to Cantonment Rly station just before the Pooja Holidays. I wanted the pick-up at 5:30 pm. So I called Meru at 3 pm. When I said I need to go to Railway station they said all the cabs have been booked from 4:45 pm to 9pm which means I wont get their service. So I went for other options.

I was returning after 3 days and while coming back I called them from train asking for a pick up from Whitefield station at 7:15 am. Got the similar reply that all the cabs have been booked till 8:30am. Then I remembered someone saying that Meru are reluctant to come to Railway stations to avoid the protest of autowalas. Instead of giving that reason they are telling a lie.
That’s point number 1. Still I was fine with that even though they were lieing. But the next incident really irritated me. Same morning I called Meru again to go to office and asked for a pick-up at 9 am. I did not get any SMS till 9. So I called them and got the reply that there will be a delay and the cab will come at 9:30. No cab came and I called again at 9:35. Without any shame the lady at the other end told that there are further delays and it will come at 10. They did not even show the courtesy to call me when the cab was unavailable. I had to call them all the time.

They were providing very good service initially . Now they are established and they think that they can do anything with the customers and we will keep quite. I want to let them know that customers can strike them back. After that I haven’t used their service and I inform all my friends how they treat the customers now.
Meru Really saved the day!!!

I went out with friends for a party and a friend who had promised to drop me home drank more than he should have. How was i supposed to go home so late in the night? Fortunately i remembered the Meru cab no. and they immediately sent a cab to pick me up.

If the services of meru cabs were not available then girls like me would have been in a tough situation. Thanks to Meru Cabs we can relax.
well i also had very bad experience with the service of the meru cab..the driver name was lokesh. i had booked the cab from mg road to banshankari but the chauffer instead of taking the shortest route he took the longest route and got confused...he was even driving very harshly...he even charged the extra amount by saying that its night time at 9:30.i have already complained regarding the services of meru cab but action is not yet taken..really it was a bad experience..
Guys If you need a cab for a pickup from Electronic City. Never trust the Meru Cab. As the Service is pathetic in the morning time. very possible chance that you can get you head bursted but no possibility of getting cab. The customer service guy is respond pathetically without courtsies.

I got the recordings from the customer care for supporting my reviews too.

I would suggest go for the local travel agent instead of meru. The were only serviving on their service. Now that too is gone.
The cab service from Meru is gone.

Guys never rely on Meru if you have an important appointment scheduled and you have booked a Meru cab to reach the place.
I had booked a Meru cab online on 14-Jan-14 at 4PM for travelling from JP Nagar 7th Phase to UB city on 15-Jan-14 8AM. Morning at 7:25AM I received a mail from Meru stating that my booking is confirmed and they also shared the vehicle and driver details but till 8:15 the cab did not arrive so I called up the driver and he informed me that he has not got any info on this. I called up the Meru customer care and they ensured me that a cab will be sent by 8:45AM and I will recieve a confirmation mail or message on the same. I waited till 9AM and there was no msg nor cab so I called the customer service again and spoke to the floor supervisor who promptly denied cab stating that there are shortage of cabs from morning. If they knew that there is a shortage of cabs then why did they send me a booking confirmation mail with the vehicle and driver details? They could have instead sent me a mail stating that there is a shortage of cabs and they will not be able to provide a cab, I could have done alternate arrangements. I waited from 8AM till 9:15AM thinking that Meru will arrange a cab but nothing happened because of this I could not attend an important meeting which was scheduled at 10AM, pathetic service from Meru and a total mismanaged team. Never rely on them as they will make you wait and then they will inform you that they dont have cabs.
Very first time I have booked cab from NIBM to Railway station at 12 pm approx for 8 pm on 19.9.14.( I have booked this cab as I was receiving several msgs from Meru to book the cab). according to them, I will get confirmation of driver 20 mins before scheduled time . But it was really surprising to see that when I call Meru 15 mins before " Sir, sorry driver is not available", and this reply was really disappointing . Pathetic service I faced in very first time from Meru though it was booked well in advance. Definitely I will not recommended to any of my extended circle/ family/ others. Always first impression is last . Meru if you want to continue in Pune, you should improve your services and team members as they do not have intensity of any matter. Pune
Last minute cancellations without informing – Not once but
twice – in a single day !


I availed MeruCab service on 13th Dec 2014. I booked to and
fro journey at around 4:30 PM using app. One at 7:00 PM from my place and
return journey 01:00 am. I confirmed my bookings by calling them around 05:00
PM and they did so. They assured that I will receive the driver details by SMS
20 mins prior to the journey.


Sequence of Events:


- It was 6:45 PM now and I did not receive any SMS. I called
them up and they shamelessly answered
that it was cancelled due to unavailability. They neither cared to intimate me
by a call nor by an SMS. Place I had to go was 20 kms far from my
house. Instead of wasting any more time, I just asked them if 01:00 AM return journey
was confirmed or not. They said it is confirmed. I then took an auto, which
cost me 400 bucks.


- It was now 12:45 AM and I did not receive any SMS. I called them up and again they 'shamelessly'
answered that it was cancelled due to unavailability. I mean – its 01:00 AM… I’m
20 kms far from my home… and they don’t even care to tell me that my cab was
cancelled! One time is unlucky, but two times is obviously lack of service.
I then showered them with ‘blessings’ and asked them to get the Manager
available. As expected I was then put on hold for quite a while after which I
just dropped off and called again. This time he told me that I can get next cab
at 01:35 AM which I agreed. Again no SMS with driver details. They never learn
do they! I received it finally at 01:33 AM (which they say should get 20 mins
prior to the journey). By then, fortunately, I got an auto and spent 600 bucks
back to my abode.

Trust me. I’m never taking Meru ever in my life. I’ll trust
my legs if I have to chose. Neither do they have a courtesy to arrange an
immediate cab, nor do they provide compensation. They just leave it to your
fate.


I would like to get the compensation for the alternate
service I had to use at the last minute.
VERY VERY POOR SERVICE.UNFORTUNATELY I BOOKED A CAB FOR 18/03/2015 FROM BANNERGHATTA ROAD TO AIRPORT.ALTHOGH DRIVER CAME AT THE EXACT TIME IE.08.30A.M. CABNO.KA51A4041.ON THE WAY TO AIRPORT HE SWITCHED OFF THE A.C. AT LEAST 3 TIMES.LASTLY HE OPENED THE WINDOWS I DO NOT KNOW THE PLACE BUT IT WAS A WIDELY OPEN AREA/ROAD.

WHEN I REACHED THE AIRPORT THE DRIVER SH.VAJRAPPA DEMANDED A SUM OF RS.1050/- FROM ME FARE CALUCATION 50KMSMULTIPLY 19.50 WHICH COMES OUT TO BE RS.975/- I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY HE ADDED RS.75. I ASKED FOR A MONEY RECEIPT
HE SIMPLY GAVE A TOLL CHARGE MEMO WRITTING RS.1050 ON IT.

MY SON-IN-LAW WHO BOOKED THE CAB FOR ME ADVISED ME THAT HE RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM THE COMANY FOR THE FARE WHICH COMES OUT TO BE RS.532/-.HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DRIVER AND THE DRIVER ASSURED HIM TO RETURN BACK THE EXCESS FARE CHARGED FOR A GINNI CAB. A COMPLAINT WAS LODGED WITH MERU CABS REF, NO 36861350 BY SH MOHD AND ANOTHER DAY BY SH.ADNAN AND THEY ASSURED ME TO REVERT BACK SHORTLY BUT NO RESPONSE [protected].
Well I am surprised to see that Meru has sent a response nearly 5 years after I filed a complaint!!!
And what a great response it is ...It's a canned response, !!!
Probably you never responded as you were thinking that you guys will rule the taxi industry and were no aware of OLA's, TFS and Uber's of the world... Once I had to take Meru again from airport and nothing has changed... Your driver took toll money for both the ways from me and I know that your drivers take toll money for passengers whom they drop as well..
Very poor service, in terms of cab availability, behaviour of drivers and extremely inefficient call center support team. I had a very bitter experience and will never book again.
