[Resolved]  Railway complaint — e-ticket problem and railway site down

Hello,

I booked an e-ticket for Janashadhabdhi express from Kochi to trivandrum on 27th June 2008 at 12 pm. I also got the confirmation seat. But the railway site (domain) went down around 12:30 pm and i couldn't take the printout of my ticket from the website. When i enquired about it to concerned officials and even TTR's, no one was aware of how to help such a customer. They were simply blaming me as though it was my mistake. One of them even warned me if i sit in my confirmed seat, he will fine me 3 times the ticket fare..

Even after getting the confirmation seat they didn't allow me to occupy the seat for the simple reason no one knew how to proceed. Next day in newspaper i could see the news that we need to call #139 customercare and just update the PNR number, then the cash will be refunded. So i even tried that number, their too the official who picked the phone didn't had a clear idea on how to proceed and gave a telephone number of Chennai office, which is not a toll free. So if i even make the call my refund cash is gone in the telephone call, which is not that professional customer care.

It would have been good if the railway authority had a clear idea on how to make this cases, the customers would have been happy. I am just posting this as in future the authority will make the officials at least TTR in the particular train how to proceed in such cases and guide the customers.

Thank You,

Hello,

I booked an e-ticket from IRCTC railway site, using my mother's SBI-ATM card. The ticket was booked from New Delhi to Guwahati, Sampark Kranti Train, AC 3 tier. The amount was around RS. 5000/- debited from the account instantly. Four tickets were booked that was for my father, mother and we two brothers. My father is a senior citizen person as he is 65 years old. The tickets were waiting list 15 no.

We got the final confirmation before train leaves as RAC for my father's ticket, others in waiting list no. 1, 2, 3. We were in the station at that time, so i tried to cancel the e-ticket on the station, but for my surprise there was not a single counter of IRCTC, where we can be helped. On the other counters we were said to go to the head office in the morning. As i tried cancelling the tickets from the site at 10 PM, the sites were closed. It will be done only in the morning. In the morning when i called customer care they said me it can be cancelled only after 48 hours after the train departure.

After three days when i called customer care again I was said that the ticket will be cancelled automatically the money will be transferred within 90 days.

So, I ask the management why the transfer will take so much of time.

Thanks
