[Resolved] Samsung Lcd Tv / Airtel Digital Tv — False free offer by company | |||
I purchased a Samsung LCD TV, model no. LA32C450E1MXXS from the CSD, Kochi for Rs 25,977.60/- on 11 Nov 10. The invoice from Samsung to CDS and the cash receipt voucher are placed at enclosure. The LCD TV was purchase under the offer made by Samsung for a free SD DTH STB from Airtel. A copy of the offer made by Samsung is also attached. Accordingly a voucher was given to me at the time of delivery of the TV which had a serial number and an activation code (which had to be scratched out to revel the number). A copy of the voucher is enclosed. The Aitel customer care center was contacted by me and the serial number of the voucher [protected] was given to them after which I was given a Customer id - [protected]. I was instructed to recharge the customer with Rs 500 by Airtel customer care after which the STB would be setup at my home. I recharged the my customer id online by credit card for an amount of Rs 500/-. The transaction id for which is - 664417. After recharging, I contacted the Airtel customer care and I provided them with the Activation code - [protected]. To my utter surprise and disappointment, I was told by Airtel that this voucher was already used and I had to now pay for the set top box if I wanted a DTH connection. They have also asked me to approach Samsung and get a new voucher and only then will I get my connection. When I contacted the dealer who sold me the TV he expressed his inability to do so. There are two aspects of this that needs your attention, one - when I first gave Airtel the serial number of the voucher, I was told that the voucher is valid and I will get the connection after recharging, which they are now disputing after I made the payment saying that the voucher is already used. Second - the activation code was scratched out by me and could not have been seen or used by anyone else. The problem that I am facing could hopefully be a technical glitch and can be sorted out between Airtel and Samsung, otherwise it appears to be a case of misleading the public and actually making us actually pay up for the STB after falsely being told it is free. The last date for the voucher is 15 Dec 10 and I am being pressurised by Airtel to sort out the matter with Samsung by this date. It is requested that the matter be resolved and I be issued a new voucher with a different activation code or that Airtel activate my account and give me a DTH connetction with the existing code.
