[Resolved]  Samsung Refrigerator — Fridge not cooling and bad service

This refrigerator (RT28M) has stopped working after 9 months of it's purchase. I've filed a complaint with their service centre and the service engineer came almost 6 times in the past 1 month. Everytime he comes, he unscrews and screws back the frost free compartment and leaves, but the problem never got solved. The people at the service centre close the request saying they got the positive feedback whereas I've never been asked about the status of the product, at times they even close the request without the engineer visiting my place. I'm thinking of going to the Consumer Redressal Commission.

Samsung — Samsung Refrigerators Terrible customer service

We had purchased a samsung refrigerator in 2001 and it didn't give us any problems until Dec 2008. When it did give problems we decided to call the customer service of samsung instead of approaching the local fridge repair persons.

Complaint given Friday 5th December 2008 and got a complaint#.

Even though they claim to have a toll free number, and "world-class" service, the service personnel visited only after repeated complaints AFTER 7 days. In this period we had to speak to multiple personnel. They asked for our address at least 7 times, often arguing with us that our pincode was wrong, and they assigned us to some other area by mistake! we gave them enough landmarks and our phone numbers, why do they bother about the pin code, are they the postal service?

In spite of giving the complaint number to every personnel we speak to, they again ask is it a fridge complaint or a washing machine!!! One person even said we had the wrong complaint number and such a number did not exist in their database. Atrocious.

On 12th December 2008. Finally a person came and we had to replace the compressor costed us Rs. 5500/- one fourth of the cost of a new fridge. Story does not end here...

After 3 days, 15th December 2008 (28 hours to be precise) there was a water leakage, which continued for 2 days. We directly contacted the personnel who replaced the compressor, and he kept saying he will attend to it in a couple of days and he didn't turn up.

And after 7 days the NEW compressor stopped working. Now we again called customer service:
Re-opened the same complaint#, on 24th December 2008.

Now, the same saga of pleading, and begging with their customer service persons to send us a replacement. Now we are stuck, we can't go to anyone else since they need to replace it.

In total we have made at least 30 phone calls in 20 days.

Samsung — Fridge - Pathetic , atrocious service

Fridge had stopped cooling in the lower compartment, and was only working in the upper compartment .
The service men first just cleaned the fridge and said that the bimetal was n ot put correctly hence it was not, working, next time they changed the timer and the last time they said that the bimetal needs to be changed, which was not instock . Bimetal which costs only about 200 bucks .
The frustration is the number of calls you make to the Customer centre, everytime talk to a new person and everytime wait for something to happen . One can't chuck the fridge because of a 200 rupee component ant there is no clear line of escalation .
The engineers never pick up the phone, the service centre people never call back .
Never again will I invest in a Samsung and I will ensure I tell atleast200 people about my experience and they will tell atleast 100 more and so on .
Samsung needs to clean up its service other wise the end is near .

Samsung Refrigerator — no cooling in the fridge

The after sales is disappointing, the customer service is unreliable. Despite dozens of phone calls and hours of waiting they have failed to respond. Please think twice before you buy a product with Samsung brand.

I will be approaching consumer court for a deficiency in service and substandard product.

Dear concern,

We have purchased on 14 apr 2009.single Door. Now the Problem is this its lock system is very poor my 2 year bay is open very easily after lock the Door. let me know if we lock the door then how a baby open this that means clearly showing lock system is very poor.

Plz rectify as soon as possible we r waiting for u r reply. if any mishappening happened then Samsung is responsible for the same....don’t take it lightly

Refrigerator — not working and bad service

sir,
i won one refrigerator of KEN STAR company. past TEN days it is not working and we have lodged a complaint at customer care center our complaint no is BAN[protected]. Which was lodged on 02-march-2011, but today it is 11-march-2011.your company didn't send any one to repair it. intern your area manager says that in such a big company you do not have person to repair it. I FEEL SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR SERVICE. I hope that you people can solve our problem as early as possible.

Samsung, Refrigerator — Pathetic Service

I had complained about non functional of my refrigerator on 24.7.2011 ( complaint number [protected]) at 5.30pm to Mr. Karan in service centre. He said that an engineer would visit you at 11am on 25.7.2011. He did not turn up. Then I reminded them again on the same day. No revert or anyone came. Then on 26th July again I complained at 10.30am in the morning. They said someone would definitely come on 26th. Next day on 27th/28th the same story repeated with Service Centre supervisor said he would follow it up and call me. Call still awaited. On 28th someone from service centre called up and said he is coming on 11am. He did not turn up. Today on 29th I again asked the service centre why they did not come, they said it was raining, though no rains were there in my area Vikaspuri. Now today they said temperature is 33degrees so they cannot come. Can I know what is the ideal temperature when these engineers work at so that we can wait for that service.

Shocking WILL NEVER BUY OR ADVISE ANYONE TO BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT. Its a pathetic service.
