[Resolved]  Sony — repair costs are more than new laptop cost

My Sony Laptop mother board failed within two years.One of the service centres at Bangalore, India quoted a repair charge of Rs 28000.00. I got it re-checked in another Sony Service Centre of Bangalore, India, they quoted same amount. I decided to get it done by a private service man. He opened the laptop in my presence(Sony Service Centres never do that). To my horror he showed me that many of the internal parts are stolen. It is stolen at one of the authorised service centres of SONY !!! Now I am helpless !!!

I am also having very bad experience with Sony Service Center.
My Sony Vaio laptop VGN CR 343N which is just two years old and now out of warranty started shutting down randomly without any warning.
When I took it to "Sony Vaio Serivce Center" at Bangalore, they said Motherboard is to be replaced.
The cost of motherboard replacement is 14000 rupees and there is only 3 months of warranty after spending this much money. The service center did not offer any other help in this regard and they are not able to explain the real cause for the problem. They just say they can't do the component level service for the motherboard.

sony computer laptop — faulty repair work

I paid sony £800 for the repair of my brothers sony laptop a month ago but the repair work sony did on his laptop is faulty in so far as the laptop swiches itself off without warning all the time. My brother uses this laptop for work so he needs it in perfect working order. He informed sony right away of the problem, which was clear from day one of it's return to him, supposely repaired! Sony said he would have to pay to have it repaired again though they have been paid £800 already to repair it, which they have not done! Please help us one this one as we do not know what to do as we can't afford to pay more money. Sony have not done the repair work that they have been paid to do & now they want us to pay more money to repair what they have been paid to do already!

I have bought Sony Vaio Model No.VPCEA23EN and within 2 months motherboard got carshed. thank god it ws under warrenty that time but after 2 years motherboard again got some problem and when i went to service center they said it needs to b change which will cost me 14000. So guys don't buy SONY laptop they are not durable.

This is true..I purchased Sony laptop year ago. The warrantee ended in Jan'13 and laptop's motherboard needs replacement in March'13. Despite very careful use and no dust or spiling on keyboard at all

Even my lap top 's motherboard is dead after 2 mnths of expiry of 1 year's warranty. We need to do domething for this now.

Really Bad Laptops of Sony. I purchased Sony laptop VPCEH15EN. I used it for only 3months.And then it didn't start due to some motherboard issue.When i checked with Service center, they told me that MB need to be replaced and it cost around[protected].

True! sony laptop re not durable...they are totally selling chinese garbage...i also gt my laptop MB failed within one year...and it happened after warranty period:(...and I have to pay 12000/-

Even my Sony VAIO lap top 's motherboard is dead after 6 months of expiry of 1 year's warranty. I approached sony servicing center. I bought for 28k. They did not try to repair the mother board they order for the new mother board. After mother board replacing they informed the processor gone.Repair cost would be more than the new laptop. PLEASE DONT BUY any SONY LAPTOPS. Servicing Centers are worst and pricing is worst.PLEASE DONT BUY any SONY LAPTOPS. If we buy than we die...

worst product and service center 'sony vaio'

i bought sony vaio laptop and feeling the pain. Its mother board got crashed twice. These mofos cheats with its brand name.

what is the repair cost of mother board (sony vaio vpceb34en)? At sony service center they are demanding 12, 600Rs, is it worth repairing at service center for that price

I took care of my laptop like my baby for 3 years. initially when I purchased with in 2 months the motherboard crashed it was in warranty so got it changed thank god...but u know what I think this Sony people are unethically smart and they repair your laptop with a pre-determined planning of one can use it till the time the warrant expires...and seriously so shockingly I have experienced mine laptop motherboard again crashed right after the warranty expired...I thought may be it was written in my luck but when I went through the reveiws above I conclude that actually it's a unthicall practice of SONY INDIA ...to run their business...
Very cheap...this is the reason we INDIANS prefer IMPORTED ITEMS FROM THE DEVELOPED COUNTRY...ASHAMED OF YOU SONY...
