[Resolved] Sony Ericsson — Replacement battery
I have been using a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset HBH DS 200 for nearly 2 years and now, the battery does not hold charge for more than 2-3 hours (initially it was 5-6 hours). I wish to replace the battery. I contacted the company through their customer support email id and they instructed me to get in touch with 2 service centres in the suburbs of Bombay. I contacted the centres and information given to me ranged from: (a) deposit your headset for repair - if in warranty, it will be done free or estimate charge of Rs. 500 would be levied. I tried explaining to them that it was a rechargeable cell that needed to be replaced (like any other rechargeable cell) and the headset was working fine. (b) The battery cannot be replaced...meaning one has to throw a headset costing Rs. 3,300 into the drain after using it for less than 2 years. I don't know whom to approach as the Service Centres are run by fools who don't even know what they are talking about. If the battery is not user replaceable, then Sony Ericsson needs to mention that very clearly and upfront. Was this information helpful?
