[Resolved]  Sony Ericsson W350i Mobile — Bad Services

I purchased a sony ericsson mobile w350i from Ghaziabad in Dec 2008/Jan 2009. I'm visiting Bhopal during summer 2009 before proceeding to South India. My phone display went off. When I approached the Sony Ericsson Service Center (Accel Frontline Limited) in Bhopal, they said that the mobile needs to be left for some time and may be display has to be changed. When I told them the mobile is under warranty and u can check it, they asked me to produced the bill.

Obviously, when on a tour, I don't roam around with bills of my gadgets. When I told the Branch Manager at the service centre (I think he told his name as Mohammad Shafrat Ali... A rude service manager... i don't know who the hell made him branch manager of Service Center... he was so rude that he doesn't deserve to be a Manager...) that the bill is at my home, he asked to get a fax... when told that there is nobody at home and it can't be faxed... he showed his inability to provide the services as he said that the mobile could be from grey market...

For a brand like SONY... they don't have the facility to check whether the mobile is from grey market on not... If they have the facility, the manager concerned was harnessing and trying to extract some money on the pretext of non-availability of original bills... whichever way... this incident will make me think twice before purchasing the SONY product again and carry the bills of the products where ever I go...

In the evening further pursuing the matter, i checked the sony erricsson website ... and located another service provider in Bhopal in the name of Logic Technologies. When I contacted the serrvice provider on phone and asked whether he can give me the service under waranty in the absence of the purchase invoice, he immediatly asked for the IMEI no, which i provided him. On the phone itself, he confirmed that my set is under warranty and can be get repaired.

I also contacted the Toll free service centre of SONY, which confirmed that IMEI No. tells about the warranty and every service centre has access to their website.

This makes the case purely against the Accell Frontline Limited, where the branch manager is doing nothing but destroying the name of SONY.
