I had given my sony cybershot camera model number DSC-H50, serial number 2314658 to one of the SONY AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE, M/s. Srikara Marketing Services Ltd., G-9, Srinivasa Towers, Besides ITC Kakatiya Sheraton Hotel, Greenlands Road, Begumpet, Hyderabad-500016, Phone: [protected] or [protected] on 24-09-09 as it was not "switching on".
I was assured that I would get back the serviced camera within 2days as the service engineer was on leave. In the first place, I fail to understand how come “sony service” operates only with 1 service engineer for a world-class city. As I noticed, if a service engineer is not available for 1 day, the entire “sony service network” seemed to be stopped because even other customer seemed to be complaining.
I have not been given any “Job Sheet”, all I have is a “call sheet” without any reference number, except my name and address on it. I was told that I would be called to take back the repaired camera by 25-09-09, however that has not happened till today i.e., 17.00 Hrs of 04-10-09. I have called up the service centre 6 times till now everyday and they are not even able to tell me as to what is the status of the camera and whether they have been able to find out what the reason atleast, leave about whether it can be repaired or not and the cost involved, though it is still covered under warranty. They have told me that it has been taken “somewhere else to find out the problem” and are not even willing to tell me where it has been forwarded so that I could follow it up with them. Everytime I call them they would make me hold on the line atleast for minimum of 10 minutes, wasting my time as well my mobile phone bill charge shooting up. They are “completely irresponsible and do not care for customer with their arrogant, irresponsible replies and never to keep up the commitment attitude”. One Mr. William who answers the call says that the concerned engineer or their incharge would call me and believe me I have never heard anything from these 2 people for the last 11 days.
At this juncture, I feel that “SONY boasts about world class products, their world class service seems to be WORST.” “The reason I am writing this feedback is after repeated follow up and being being ‘let down’ by SONY.”
I have decided to proceed “legally and claim compensation” against “SONY and their authorized service centre, M/s. Srikara Marketing Services Ltd.”, for their inordinate delay, deficiency of service, false assurances, not being able to service & return my camera as promised and most importantly causing financial loss for follow-up and my valuable time that was wasted on them.
