In 2006 i bought Sony Vaio Laptop from one of the online stores in UK. It was working perfectly until recently my keyboard started to behave abnormally. I could not type any letters nor was i able to use function keys. When ever i opened MS-Word it gave me an error message saying that i holding down control key do you want to start MS-Word in Safe mode but in fact i was holding the control key. So i took this laptop to one of the Authorised Sony service centre located in Bangalore - RMS Technologies Pvt Ltd in Jayanagar. They checked and told me that there must be some thing wrong with the internal circuit, and they informed me that after checking we will be able give you the details. So far so good. Now the real problem came, i was shocked to hear this, WITHOUT TAKING MY PERMISSION THEY FORMATTED THE WHOLE C-DRIVE, AND LOST ALL THE DOCUMENTS, this shows that how careless they are. They informed me when they started formatting it. They could not stop this, if they do then my hard disk would have crashed. This meant my laptop looked like brand new but i lost all the important documents. I did even asked them to recover all the data but they insisted by saying no. This shows how their customer service is. After all these, they had to replace the whole keyboard, i mean a brand new keyboard, which they didn't had, so they ordered from Delhi, and i had to wait for 3 days n finally they replaced it with new keyboard and charged me Rs. 4800 INR.
Even i made a mistake of not taking the backup, but this is something SONY RMS Technologies should look into this before.
All if you are giving your laptop or Desktop to these kind of service centres please make sure to take a backup copy of all the files otherwise you will end up loosing it. Was this information helpful? |
