I bought SONY VAIO laptop – VAIO SVE14133 Sr no 0003115 on 3rd August 2013.
While using it only for the first time there was a problem with my screen(LED).
First of all my complaint was not actioned for 7 days and after repeated calls to customer care - On 13 August, I was promised by the local repair centre(Unique Quality Experts) that the laptop would be replaced free of cost.
After about 7 days, 19th August 2013, I got a call again from the service center to submit my laptop and it would be replaced with a new one within 3-4 days. Hence I submitted the laptop for replacement.
Again after 3 days - 22 August 2013 I got a call from service centre that company has stopped manufacturing this model and new product with only different model number(F14212SN) but same configuration would be provided to me - free of cost. I provided my consent even though the laptop offered me was of lower configuration[battery and camera].
Then on 23rd August I was asked to sign a form and assured that again in 2-3 days my laptop would be exchanged but I got a call later that I need to pay near about 2000 INR for getting a new laptop.
First of all - They could not explain me why should I pay for the new laptop(F14212SN) when it has a lower configuration than the older one? Moreover, the newer model contains only a 4 cell battery and a 0.9 megapixel whereas the original product SVE14133 had a 6 cell battery with 1.3 megapixel camera - REST OF THE CONFIGURATION BEING THE SAME.
I agreed to the unethical and relentless demand of paying Rs 2000/- as I did not want to get into litigation and all for such a small amount. However even after paying Rs 2000/- on 30th September 3013, by DD no - 419925, Punjab National Bank, however I have not been given the new laptop so far.
Now imagine the amount of harassment caused to me.. Customer care representatives keep on lying and lying.. There is no escalation matrix on the website.. I wonder how Sony is operating in India without any ethics or morals !?!
I have been constantly following up with Jasmeet Singh, ASI - Delhi, Sony - who never gives any satisfactory response.
Atleast the people reading this post - never ever go for any Sony products.
