[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Recharge Issues

My subscriber ID [protected] in the name of Chirantan Mukherji is a long standing relationship with Tata Sky. Although the initial years has been good service but due to very unprofessional and poorly managed illogical processes of Tata Sky, as a customer, I stand aggrieved and disappointed.



On the 3rd of Feb, 2010 I had recharged my account through the Tata Sky webpage for Rs 450 using the Internet Banking route. Although the bank processed the transaction successfully on the 4th of Feb (vide payment ID[protected], when I lodged a complaint (vide complaint number-1-[protected]) with Tata Sky on the 10th Feb, 2010 I was asked to wait for 72 hours for their feedback. This, when I have given the transaction ID of the ICICI Bank payment. I failed to understand why.

Even after 24 hrs when no one from Tata Sky called me at my registered mobile number, I called the customer care back and they transferred my call to the escalation desk, where I was told that they will check with Tata Sky’s third party called “Bill Desk” and let me know the status.

Today, I got a call from the escalation dept of customer care that the amount of Rs 450 has been received and credited to Bill Desk. However, due to some fault this was not credited to Tata Sky.

They ensured me that I will get the refund of Rs 450 within the next 10 calendar days. I do not know why this should take that long.

When I asked whether they will keep my account active, during the waiting period if I do not recharge, they politely refused saying they cannot. Again, the fault of money not reaching Tata Sky is completely Tata Sky’s fault because of their faulty processes. This kind of recharge problems happen quite frequently.



As a loyal customer of Tata Sky I can only say that quality of service is at question and they are interested in new connections but not in maintaining existing ones.



I have taken a conscious decision to switch to a different DTH service provider, being completely harassed by Tata Sky’s errant processes. I seek a final redressal with the company, failing which I will post my experience with the Consumer for a.

Tata Sky do have a good service standard in the entire DTH industry. Online recharge is one of the best mode of recharging. The ICICI bank payment statement transaction validates the payment and in case of error in updating the payment in the system at Tata Sky's end the ICICI Bank payment transaction ID will help you to clarify the amount deducted.Sometimes in rare cases such system error occurs and takes some time to identify the money deducted. In case of money being lost in transit it is very important to identify the case thoroughly and get back to the customer hence there may be delays. Since you have been ensured that you will get your refund that should work out well or else you can direct them to credit it to recharge your account.These types of system error are rare but even though they are catered too as you have been ensured of your money it is safe and Tata Sky is a professional organisations that looks more into customers recurring wants to update itself and provides the best to its customers.
Hi I am facing same issue now days. I reacharge with INR.500 through AXIS account and still it is not successful. now tata sky CSR telling me that your transaction is failed. (not successfull) very strange !!! why this is happeing with TATA sky. According to CSR my deducted amount (INR 500) will be credited automatically in my account till 18 -01-12. What shuol I do now pls suggest...
