[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Inefficient Installation-TATA even before installation

I have purchased a TATA Sky DTH on 08 March 2010 vide their Invoice no AG01563803/2009 dated 09 March 2010. I received by courier the Digicomp. I called up TATASky Helpline and registered on 17/3/10 morning whereon I was given a Reg No and an ID. I received an SMS from TATASky saying that my installation was scheduled for 1830 on 17/3/2010. I also received a call from the installation engineer at around 5 pm on the same day saying that he would be there within one hour. The service person did not come. I called him up at least 4 times, but he did not pick up my call. I sent him an SMS telling him that I was waiting and was he coming. He had the indecency not to reply.

TATASky is very efficient in selling its product. Took only minutes. But thereafter it is truly TATA (ironic self description, isn't it?). Why should I continue to even get installed a product which will be attended to by the same service person for any service issues later. His service will be as good as his installation. I have already told their helpline to take back the Digicomp they sent me and to return my money.

Apparently here is a setup which sells and then SCOOTS. They do not believe in training their service persons to keep up a commitment or to be ethical by answering the telephone. I regret that I went for this purchase.

Usually for the installation the hardware is brought alongwith the technician for installation but since you received your digicomp by courier and had to set it up later there was a need for the technician to turn up with rest components (dish etc) after registration. Since you was scheduled a fixed timing and also the technician did intimate his arrival but didn't turn up you could immediately report his non-arrival to the customer care so on reverting back to the customer care they could arrange for another despatch. Such instance seldom occurs as the technician is getting paid for his service and such a misconduct might result in serious repercussion or termination. The Co. takes full responsibility of the tech visit but it is necessary they should be informed of the non-arrival since in transit it is the transaction dealt with the customer and the tech-agent. If the Co. is not acknowledged at impulse there would be delay in getting the matter fixed most importantly there will be total loss of customer trust. Such instances must be covered up by right communication to the right department and instantly to avoid delays.
no doubt this is a worst company when it comes to value for money..if any doubt check the package differnce in tata sky Vs Dish Tv or sun tv, airtel any one.
reality will be clear that do not ever buy tata sky better live without a tv
