Hi people, Hope this incident happened to me help people to understand how Bangalore Traffic police is acting and eating big amount of money from people (ie Outsider) who are coming to Bangalore for Jobs. My name is Rahul working as Software Eng for a MNC. On the day 27 January 2009 time between 1:30 to 2:30 pm. I was passing through 80ft Ring road, Signal/Crossing Near Wipro Park, Koramangala 1st block. Four Traffic policeman (One was Inspector and other three Hawaldar and sub inspector) were stopping especially the bikers not car persons. And they were asking one or other documents, If any of the document is missing they asked for huge Fine. They stopped me also they ask for some document two of the document and money I missed at my office in bag. They took my mobile and ask me to get some money first then you will get your mobile back then I went home and brought Rs. 500/- . One the police man suddenly took that money and not given me legal receipt and they took all money Rs. 500/- in their pocket. I defended and ask to give receipt than they started threaten me to drown to court and police station. What I can do.. Helpless … they took simply Rs. 500/- not for fine but for their own pocket. since they were ask for Rs.2000/- and I bargained to Rs. 500/- in the name of fine without any receipt. Can any Karnataka government body do anything for those corrupted policeman. Is this a Bangalore Silicon valley of India. So Shame on those types of policeman. Was this information helpful? | |

I went to City Market. I parked my bike in a street. When came back did not find bike there. After discussing with shopkeeper, found that traffic police taken bike. Went there(Police Station near by Majestic) and found bike. After discussing with guy who was looking after bike, he asked fo 300/- fine. I was ready to pay fine but he told me to wait for half an hour to fine handover receipt because the traffice police carrying the receipt went to City Market for the round. We waited for more than an hour but he did not come back. At last we have to him 300/- without any receipt. It means this is their daily routine to ask person to wait for very long time so that person could not wait. And fine amount will reach into their pocket not in government account.
Could RTO or any other please will take any action against such traffic police problems/complaints.

This incident happened with me today near Jaynagar(Cool Joint).
The police has put the No left turn signal just before cool joint there is a left and immediate right. After they caught me and they told that there is one more case which happened on 11 Feb-2008. The case was that i was not wearing helmet and defective silencer. On that cjalan they have written my DL No. But that was not my DL No. When i told them then they scratched and wrote my DL No with pen. My bike around 6 months old (TVS Flame) and they told that silencer is defective although i was having the emission test paer also. After that they tolad that they wil seize my bike. Thats why i gave them the Rs. 200 Fine simply. Really these cops are giving a bad name to this silicon city. I request to the Karnataka government as well as the concerned district officer to take the necessar action against the cops. I am holding that chalan with me. Please can any one suggest for the same.
