[Resolved]  Vodafone / Postpaid — Non Activation of International roaming

Dear Sir,

This is to bring to your notice the worst quality of service experience that I have received as a consumer of your company in last few months. Please note my complaints as follows:-

I have requested to activate international roaming on 5th December 2008 on my postpaid mobile connection [protected] at Vodafone store located in Hypercity, Malad (W). I have told to pay Rupees 2800/- as a security deposite t activate the International roaming service, which immediatly paid anf got the receipt of the same. I have assured that IR will be activated within two hours. I flew abroad on 6th Decemebr 2008 early morning. It was my utter surprise to see that roaming service is not working.

When i checked back with Vodafone Customer care after my return on 17th Decemebr 2008, I was informed that International roaming service ias not at all activated in my number inspite of receving Rupees 2800/- as security deposite for activation of IR service.

This has resulted in lot of mental agony and I was unable to touchbase with my family back in India. eLet Vodafone return my IR security deposite in cash and not to be adjusted against future monthly bills, since you have not provided the service at all.

I failed to understand the lapse on part of Vodafone front desk persones at Hypercity, malad (W), who could not do thier job properly. This is not expected from a Comany like Vodafone, who says "happy to help".

The above said is really true.

I would like share my Worst service experince as well.

I was being a customer of Vodafone for past 1 and half Year.

I used make call for more than Rs 1500/- every month which include ISD as well.

Vodafone was ready to provide me Post paid connection bcoz of the bill i paid..


One Sudden day they set a caller tune which i was not at all subscribed. When i checked with the Customer care, they said i have made the request.

I have clearly mentioned to them, i was in a call with my friend when they said the request was made..

I really wonder how the request will be made and the tune is activated when some one is on call.

Secondly they advised me to go nearest vodafone center, to revert back my Rs 30/-

After getting 2 hrs permission from my office during lunch break, i went to Vodafone store Which is next to Mylapore, Chennai -5.. Next to IBM, Opp to Derby show Room.


i was made to wait for more 2 and half hour.. where as the front desk people are completely free..

Among the whole office Only one person deals with the ring tone complaint, that too he is handling a lady customer for more than two hrs.. who steped in with me just 3 seconds a head.

Finally after fighting with them, Front desk people responded me where as issue was not solved..

He gave me some mail id who handles the escalation.. i was just got fed up with there procedure and left the office.


What i like to point out here is :

Ok. i do understand this a small amount. What if the amount is high ex: Rs 5000/-.. we will run here and there to revert back our money leaving our office work.

Why all these are made.. and who is responsible for this . do the customer not have any work other than running behind vodafone to get their money back. or is this the new trick of Vodafone to increase the Revenue..

if vodafone does same thing for 1000 customer they get 1000(Customer)*30(caller tune amount)=30000(thirty thousand at one shot).

i do need answer for all my question.

Vodafone customer service is not "Happy to Help" ... they Give Excuse in the Name of Procedure..

Finally they dont do their work..

We are not asking as to HELP.. Kindly do your job properly Everything will be fine.
