[Resolved]  Whirlpool India — Pathetic customer service - Hyderabad

I had registered a complaint with Whirlpool customer care, here in Hyderabad on the 16th (Complaint number: [protected]), as my washing machine stopped working. A total goofball showed up on the 17th who had no clue about what was needed to be done. Even his tester was not working. He undid and then tightened some screws here and there and finally declared that the timer is faulty. He said he will bring a new one in 2 days and left.

It has been one week now and I have not heard from either the service center or the customer care. Even after repeated calls to customer care, no action has been taken. Every morning I call, I am assured that the technician will visit my home that day. I had to take half day leaves to wait for him. Till this time, I have not received one call from Whirlpool assuring me as to when the problem will be solved. The call center just refuses to give the phone number of the service centre.

This is just pathetic customer service. I would have assumed some sort of professional behavior from such a company.
Please think twice before buying a whirlpool product in Hyderabad.

I have been using a Whirl Pool fully automated washing machine in Visakhapatnam for the last 6 years. I have entered into an AMC after the waranty and it is regretted to say that the service level here is very poor and sub standard. The point I would like to mention you that we have been complaining about the defect in my washing machine to the customer care centre by phone almost every day since 20th of Dec'09 and of no help. Finally after blasting them, the service technician visits my house after about a month of raising the complaint and say that the machine has to be shifted to the service centre for which I should pay extra for transportation. The attitiude of these guys are ridiculous

For a family staying in the city, the company should know how important a washing machine is in the day to day life. The reason for entering an AMC itself is to get the machine repaired at the earliest if it got defective. I have been almost struggling to get the clothes washed in the absence of washing machine by employing additional servant which itself has created a burden on me.

I am totally dissatisfied with their product and aftersales service and now have decided never buy their products.
yes even my washing machine which is sitll in the warranty period suddenly went off. From 2nd Feb I am getting in touch with the service centre. One Engineer came and did something and went, immediately some other problem cropped up and when contacted, he said he does not know about that problem and service people have to attend from the factory and asked me to lodge the compliant again. Again I lodged a compliant and after two days they sent one man. He came and saw and said he does not know and someone from the factory should come. m We are getting in touch with the call centre daily three times. They are replying that they have put our call on top priority and their senior engineer will call on us. But no one calls we have to keep calling and suddenly we came to know today that the spares are not available and that it will take a couple of days to get the sapres. We should form a union and take consumer action again such companies who are taking the public for a ride.
we should discourge other from buying products from whirlpool for such attitude of theirs

I'm using whirlpool refrigerator since from 4+ yrs. 2 weeks back, My refrigerator is not working (no cooling effect), so i register a complaint (complaint no 00684) in call center. Then, service person came and checked the system. He suspected the compressor problem, and it will be replaced another 2 days. After 2 days, another service person came and checked the system saying that compressor is working fine, he suspected problem on relays which is malfunctioning. So, he replaced relays with my cost( he charged me 475 rupees) and left for the day. I checked the system it is not cooling at all. I'm thinking that whirl pool service persons are not able to identifying the problem where it starts and unnecessary charging the customer saying that this is not working replace it. Ultimately, I'm paying money from my pocket but nothing is working fine. Though, i had taken service contract coupon from dealer and also the compressor is under warranty period, I couldn't expect good service from the company. I'm requesting concerned person to take necessary steps and sort out the issues as soon as possible.

I totally agree. Never buy a whirlpool product. I had purchased Whirlpool Refrigerator on 3rd Dec. 2009 (From Vijay Sales, Ghatkoper, Mumbai) and there is problem in the door. I had given complain about it 1.5 months back (Complain no. MB [protected]) and service engineer told at that time, the door will be replaced in 3-4 day (Refrigerator is under Warranty period). But still it is not repaired yet. Each time when we call to the whirlpool service agency in mumbai region the answer given is either "it will be repaired in 3-4 days" or "store manager is not available". They were not ready to give even the complain number also. I must have called at least 10-12 times.

we have purchased one washing machine - WHIRL POOL, Fully automatic on 7.8.2006. We have changed spares worth more than Rs. 7000/- (board, drive assy with brgs, seal and water inlet valves and maitenance charges) with in 4years- i.e apprx 50% cost of the machine. The company wants to change the spares totally, without any repair of the particular spares. The spares cost is also very costy - drive assy more then Rs.3000/- and electronic board Rs.3500/-. We have changed the board on 13.8.2010. We noticed in the board certain areas are punctioning. But, it is thrown into dust fully. This is waste of the economy like our country, India.

Washing machines, nowdays, mostly all the middle class and upper class are using and also it is one of most useful machine.

The representative of the company is mostyly interested to sell their products additional to their machines( this may be instuction of the company or their motivation behind for commission from sale of addl. items and spares)

I would like to give certain things. This may be reviewed.

Manufacturers should give manual operation all detail in regional languages like, Tamil, Malayalam, Kanndam, Thelugu etc., and DOs and DON'Ts in bold letters for maintenance like safety points.

The design itself should have certain things, small repair, - the consumer is able to repiair.

Changing the spares for bulk amout i.e. 20 to 25% cost of the machine is not acceptable and more expensive for middle class people in our country - Inda. The manufacturer can split the spares into 2 or 3 more parts from assy to indivual part and cost can be reduced. The change of the spare parts indivual value should not exceed more thean 10%. For consumer protuction, this may be looked by Government, because most of the people purchasing the machine from their small savings. The cost of the spares seems very costly - more than 100% profit compared with it materials of the spares and size.

Don't Buy any Whirlpool products in hyderabad. since they don't care about customer.

I baguht one Duble Door Fridge.. it work fine for 4 months and after that it started giving some noice in compressor itself.., i log a compliant in customer care.., since from one month onwards no one has turned up against this.., its worst experiance we have seend when compared to other companies. regulay i am following up with the customer care people but they ane not taking care.

So, Dear All..., don't buy Any Whirlpool products in india also aswell...

i gave complaint on 23rd aug.2010 to cc service centre. every day the incharge, Hyd is promissing to send the service engineer so far as on today i.e., 19th sep 2010 service engineer has not attended to my complaint. my phone no. 27126657, cell no. [protected]. i am requesting the higher authorities to attend my complaint and i am waiting for the service engineer everyday. and also requesting to give e-mail address of higher authorities who can solve my washing machine problem.

Regarding a complaint of non-repair of my refrigerator, I sent a letter through courier(contents reproduced below)to the Managing Director of Whirlpool of India Ltd.but no action has been taken till date.

Subject: Non-repair of Refrigerator.

I have got a refrigerator of 280 cc. capacity of whirlpool make. It developed a problem of water collection inside the refrigerator under the vegetable / fruit basket. I complained regarding the same at your call centre No. 60008558 on 09.05.2010.
A person attended the same, changed a part and charged Rs. 1500/- for the same. Within a month, it developed same problem, and I complained again on 20.06.2010. Another person attended the problem and charged Rs. 285/- as visiting / repair charges.
To my dismay, again it developed same problem and I complained on 17.08.2010. A person attended the same and the problem reccurred.
Then I complained again on 6th September and a person came on 10th September and promised to come on 11th September. Without coming to attend the problem, they sent an SMS on my mobile phone, which reads "Dear customer, your call has been closed in system. If you were happy with our services pls. tell others if not tell us at 60008558."
I complained again at above Phone Number. Person on this Phone No. told me to contact Mr. Mukesh at[protected] during 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
I have tried to call on this phone No. number of times but no one picks up / responds.
If this is the state of affairs regarding services from Whirlpool of India, who will buy a Whirlpool refrigerator in India. Unless some drastic action is taken against such incompetent people, Whirlpool of India is bound to be doomed.
Hope, you will personally look into the matter and respond at the earliest.

I have the same problem with one of My WhirlPOOL Refrigerator, I have SR number-PN[protected] (Pune, Maharastra).
Pathetic service after paying the full amount of defected part but the technician (Virendra SIngh) Never turned so far in 30 days, Now.Called Pune head office as I have get the number from customer care, You know she is not aware of the situation and giving me useless assurance that she will do the needful. I dont know If she selling nuts at headoffice PUNE.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I have frequent problems with my Whirlpool washing machine. Whenever i register a complaint with their Call Centre ,they promise to send someone within 3 hours (i guess this is a standard tutored response). However, this time, the concerned service person did not even attend the complaint (registered on 13 Nov 10) despite me contacting him twice where he promised to come within 12 hours. Further, Whirlpool foreclosed my complaint after 10 days (yesterday- 23 Nov 10)). When i informed the Call Centre regarding this,they were very casual and did not even regret the repeated incidents.Further,they kept me on hold for about 12 minutes after which they told me to get in touch with their service manager.

I am surprised that a reputed company like Whirlpool can behave so callously. My Complaint No. is CN[protected] dated 13 Nov 2010. I wouldn't have written this complaint if i haven't experienced poor service response from this company repeatedly (many times over).

I have seen one of the worst service ever by a global company. After reporting the issue & following it up everyday with calls for two weeks, the service engineer (Mr. Aneesh) comes & tells that he will come back with the part. He takes another week to come back & repair the washing machine Fp60. He is reminded of some problems & he says he will check & resolve. Shows that it is working (in disguis) & leaves only to leave washing machine in non-working condition after taking 800Rs as the total cost for service + part.

Is this the service that Whirlpool is promising its customers??? How pathetic it is to see you all respond to the issue after three weeks only to leave it in worse condition!!! Tired!!!

Now again when we call up the service engineer, he doesnt respond. We are now forced to search for a local technician. Never expected this kind of service from Whirlpool else we would have never bought from your company!

I had got my washing machine serviced in July 2011 for my complaint I did in June 2011 by K. N services sec 83 noida, my washing was kept in the service center for around 15 days & I was charged for Rs.4500(physically having the bill), & I got to know that few parts of my machines are missing for which I had complaint regarding that to service center but no one responded back now after 2 months I again had the problem which the machine & people from new service center came & then I got to know that there were few internal parts as well which were missing which were told by the new service center named Weston services from sec.63 noida, I was badly treated & they started to shout on me that its your problem & you would have to pay all the amount which ever has incurred & that you might had got the service done from outside people & at that time only me & my mother was there at home. The authorised service center which the consumer always rely on has behaved so badly which was so unexpected from whirlpool being such a good brand name. I am highly disappointed with the servicing provided by them & there careless behaviour making the consumer a defaulter of his own thing for which they have spent so much amount. Its the worst company that a consumer should go in for.
