Dell India — Defective Hard Disk. | |||
I have a Dell Laptop bought with 3 years warranty, This is XPS model 502L. Warranty was there till June 2014. During January 2014 the HDD crashed the same was replaced by Dell. However, the hard disk failed once again during March 2015. I approached Dell India at Bangalore. They did not support . They said that the time taken for looking into the problem itself would be around 21 days. As I can not wait for that long without a system, I got the HDD replaced from outside. The new HDD I bought with same capacity and speed had two years warranty. As Dell India was not supportive to get the HDD replaced, I wrote to Toshiba the original manufacturer of the replaced HDD ( Jan 2014) which crashed, They confirmed me the replaced HDD has indeed two years warranty but as this was a OEM supply to Dell, only Dell can approach for the replacement. Dell India conveniently does not take up my mails and respond. The problem is still not sorted out. I have made up my mind not to buy anything from Dell after this episode.
