My journey from Bangalore to Phuket (PNR : G41U5V) from 12th of January 2022 to 18th of January, 2022 was canceled due cancellation of the Flight by GoFirst Airlines. I received a call from the Airlines 14 days prior to my journey. My VISA, Travel Insurance and Hotel Booking were all paid for and I was informed by the Airlines that this cancellation due to the extension of the Government Ban on International Flights due to Covid. I was assured that I will be receiving a complete refund of Rs. 32500 that was paid and then I received a confirmation from the Airline that the complete refund has been processed. 7 days later I received an email from Easemytrip that the refund has been processed to my original payment and that the convenience fees have been deducted. Easemytrip markets its booking by giving a waiver on the convenience fees that other websites charge and I was not charged a convenience fees while booking this ticket. I do not understand that if the Airlines have issued a complete refund then why is Easemytrip holding back the amount? I made it clear with the airlines about the refund amount and agreed not to report this cancellation or file for additional damages if the amount paid for the flight is fully refunded. Easemytrip being a booking website has no right to hold back an amount that was never paid in the first place.
