Easy Cabs — no contengency plan

I took a easy cab last nigh i.e. 9th march 2014 cab no DL 1RX6557 to my residence in rohini. The cab broke down on rajouri flyover. It was a scary time as all vehicles came in speed and we could be hit anytime. The driver instead of first taking care of the passenger by stopping an auto or a cab, was busy in getting it rectified all by himself for 40min. I was stranded there waiting for help and no one stopped. I called police and they traced me after 40 minutes. I want to understand if there is a contingency plan for passengers in such situation.
