I had booked flights tickets from Goa to Mumbai for 24th March 22:55 pm through the website - Happy Easy Go.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we had to cancel our flight.
In-numerous emails and calls were made - all in vain. No response from their side.
As a responsible citizen, we decided to cancel the flight directly through airlines website facing a heavy penalty of 8.7K! - but this was we could get back some amount back.
To our bad luck, India went on a lockdown and no flights were operational from 24th March 00:00 am. If we hadn't voluntarily cancelled, we would have automatically gotten the entire amount as refund.
Still, we were happy when the airlines informed us that they had processed 2.5k as refund to our agent (Happy easy go) and we would receive it soon via same mode of payment
Since March 23rd, after innumerable mails and calls later, today - April 13th ( almost a month later) I was finally able to reach Happy easy go.
They informed me rudely that they won't refund anything because they are also charging their own penalty- inr 500 per ticket and inr 1000 in convenience charges?!
This whole issue started due to lack of customer support form their end. But ironically they are charging convenience fees and won't even refunded that 2.5k back to us.
The worst customer service ever! Super arrogant. And on top of it they fake advertise-
1. My Booking invoice has the word "refundable " on it.
2. They send daily emails claiming "free cancellation" ( literally flooded my inbox )
3. They say 24*7 customer service ( A big joke)
They may have slightly lower price(inr 100-200) while you try to book. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!
While researching about them I came across multiple complaints of scam. The most shocking was of people claiming the website had asked for more money post the booking confirmation as the airlines had changed its fare?
