HDFC Bank — AMB charges

I had an salary account with HDFC Bank Panchkula Branch.
I left the company and moved back to my home town. I visited the local branch here in Himachal to close the account which they said that I had to visit the Panchkula branch. I could not travel down to Panchkula.
Now the bank had charged me 4000 rs as they converted the zero balance account into salary account and there was no intimation or acknowledgement from my side.
This is pure harrasment and they straight away debited 4000rs from account.
