[Resolved] HDFC Bank — credit card autopay return fee

I paid my hdfc credit card bill amount of rupees 40, 450.14 on june 8th 2018 around 6 a. M. But i got a mail in afternoon that my autopay was initiated and due to non - availability of sufficient funds a payment return fee will be levied to your card account, if applicable. Then i called the hdfc credit card customer care service to complaint about the same. The customer service associate promised me that the amount will not be deducted from my card. But after that amount of rs. 809 has been debited from my credit card and also rs.0.86 has been deducted from my savings account. Why should i pay the return fee as i already cleared the payment in my card. This is unfair and not acceptable. I want my amount back in my account.

HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer,

We observe that you have given us an instruction to claim the total monthly outstanding on your card account from your savings account. Based on the instruction, we had attempted to claim funds from your savings account and the same was returned due to insufficient funds. As you may be aware, any payment returned would attract a payment return charge. In view of the same, the autopay return fee has been levied . However, we have arranged to reverse the amount of Rs 809 towards the autopay return fee levied in your card account. The relevant credit towards the same would reflect in your next statement. We request you to maintain sufficient balance in your bank account henceforth to enable us to carry out your instruction effectively and to avoid levy of autopay return charges on your card account. Dear HDFC BANK,

I have been charge of 450₹+90₹ GST for auto pay return fees, Payment is done within time period. Then please levied this fake charges.

I have paid my credit card loan on 4th September (that is the due date) and after sometime the payment was accepted. Few moments later I received below message

ATTENTION! Dear HDFC Bank Cardmember, Dear HDFCBank cardmember, We are unable to process the Auto Debit on your Card ending 7429 from your designated savings/current ac. Kindly make alternate payment at the earliest

But the amount they deducted not yet credited in my account.
