I had registered for an sip in a mutual fund via ach that was supposed to get debited each month from my hdfc bank account but due to a job change i did have sufficient balance at the time of debit. This happened for 2 months. Now when i added some balance later all the money got debited stating. Ach debit return charges xxxx thrice in different dates and also there was no consistency in the amount that was debited. (Rs.413, rs.390.36 and rs.494.65) i understood that since i was not aware of these charges there might be some confusion so i called up hdfc customer service but the guy who answered the call seemed to lack confidence and was trying to confuse me by explaining some charges etc and was taking a lot of time to understand, calculate and was continuously evading my discussion. I was so pissed off that i asked how much more amount would be debited for the sin or crime that i have committed by not maintaining the balance so he went ahead to suggest me that i should stop my ach instruction. I had one question in mind that why should someone from customer service desk advise me on what to stop or what to continue. All customer service should do is make me aware of the consequences of ach return but not advise me to stop my ach or not. Also finally he told me that a total of rs.2600 approx should have been debited for the ach return for 2 months and if that money is not yet debited he can take a complaint to get that amount debited. I was shocked at the way hdfc bank's customer service treats it customers.
At the end i received no resolution just i was worried that how the common people who sweat to earn their bread lose their hard earned money to big corporate companies.
If i would receive help in getting my money back i would be really grateful. Was this information helpful? |
