I purchased the hdfc life policy (Policy no.:[protected] through raaj malhotra (Mobile number [protected]) who called me and informed that he is an hdfc life employee. He also told me that you will have to pay a single premium of rs 2 lacks in which following benefits will be provided to me:

1. Hdfc life jeevan sanchay plus

2. Hdfc ergo cis health suraksha plus with opd claim coverage (Within 25 working days of issuance of the hdfc life policy) applicable for 36 years which is also the tenure for hdfc life jeevan sanchay plus

3. 20% cashback on all the premium amounts within 90 days from the issuance of the policy

Raaj also get the medical policy verification done through his colleague mona (Mobile no.[protected], who presented her as the hdfc ergo employee and informed me about all the hdfc ergo medical policy benefits.

Hdfc life policy was issued to me as soon as my cheque payment of rs 209, 000 was cleared on 7th jan, 2020 but to my surprise, hdfc policy was issued through a broker (Edocd solutions private limited) instead of direct hdfc life. I inquired raj about the same and he told me that broker name is due to the reason that policy is verified by a third party.

As informed by raj, i kept on waiting for 25 working days from the issuance of hdfc life policy but there was no communication from hdfc life or hdfc ergo.

I inquired with raaj and mona for hdfc ergo policy and they gave me a fake speed post tracking number (Ed[protected]in) which i kept on tracking for 5 days but the website was giving me an error that consignment number is non-existent. I checked with raaj and mona and they informed me that sometimes it happens that tracking number is not updated by post office. I felt suspicious and asked raaj to share his employee id and his hdfc life office location. He informed me that he works at hdfc life vikas puri office but he refused to share his employee id. I asked him to share his hdfc life visiting card but he refused to share that as well.

I visited the hdfc life office in sec-15 gurgaon and they informed that raaj has done a fraud with me and asked me to lodge a complaint with hdfc life customer care.

I filed an online complaint (Hdfcsl=[protected] with hdfc life and after 4-5 days they gave me below response

We have conducted a detailed investigation of the facts presented by you. On the basis of the findings, we have denied your request to cancel the policy mentioned above due to the following reason (S):

* the policy was issued to you on the basis of the documents and consent received from you accepting the terms and conditions of the policy.

* a pre-conversion verification check was conducted and successfully completed, thereby giving your consent towards issuance of the policy.

* we have now received the request for cancellation which is beyond the free look period of 30 days from the date of delivery of the policy bond.

* copy of the proposal form along with benefits and the policy contracts had been delivered timely credited in eia account number[protected] on 09.01.2020.

As per policy for protection of policyholders interests regulation, 2017 issued by insurance regulatory development authority of india, the policy holder is given the option to cancel his/her policy within the free look period, if the policy holder is not satisfied with the terms and conditions of the policy.

In view of the above facts, we have concluded that all the features and details of this plan were understood by you at the time of purchasing the policy and hence this complaint does not constitute a missale. We regret to notify that the premium paid against the given policy will not be refunded.

Further, hdfc life does not encourage alleged discrepancies or issue any insurance contract based on incorrect information. The company, as a part of its internal policy, always sends the policy bond with all the supporting documents to the policyholder to reiterate the terms of the policy.

I am really surprised that how is it possible that hdfc life is accepting the payments through raaj malhotra (Mobile number [protected]) and issuing the policies but do not know who he is.

Why hdfc life did not inform me during verification that this policy is being issued through some agent (Edocd) and not through direct hdfc life. Had hdfc life verification team informed me about this, i would have been able to avoid this fraud.

Request you to help me to get the refund as this policy has been sold to me in the fraudulent way.
