I spent arround 189 & 59 & few more dollars worth indian money in singapore via my debit card on[protected] &[protected]. But money is being deducted with description debit card pur adj dt 02-02-19 on[protected]. Please explain why is this happenig.? And please explain the percentage calculations. Verified Support Feb 06, 2019 HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer, There is a currency conversion markup of 3.5 % on foreign currency transactions carried out on debit cards as Transaction amount + Difference in foreign currency Rate (Its the difference in foreign currency rate on the date of the transaction and on the date of settlement {Receipt of claim from acquiring bank}). Charges are applicable for ATM withdrawals and also for POS transaction. The exchange rate used will be the Visa/MasterCard wholesale exchange rate prevailing at the time of the transaction. Hi Even i have same question i have charged for mark up fee (3.5+tax) and debit card pur adj, as per you said only one thing has to be charged why two different amount has been charged? when i called customer care they said that amount is markup fee but i have both details in my statement mark up and debit card pur adj i have charged more that 22K for 2lakhs, after asking same thing to customer care they said we are also not aware you send email to support team they can help you.

please clarify on this
