My name is Raju My wife works at HDFC Bank in the Prime Channel department as a Relationship Manager at chennai location She recently rejoined after her maternity leave. Since her return, she has been subjected to severe mental and physical harassment by her manager, who uses a bossy tone to pressure her for sales targets, even though she has achieved her basic targets.
While I understand that every job comes with its own pressures, the behavior of her manager is unacceptable. He is mentally unstable, uneducated, and lacks understanding of work-life balance and employee needs. He even scolded her for taking maternity leave during her pregnancy, which is incredibly insensitive.
I am deeply concerned about her well-being. What if she were to commit suicide due to this pressure? Who would be responsible? I have advised her to resign, but her manager has threatened to continue torturing her during the notice period.
We are middle-class people who come to work to survive. If such managers continue to behave this way, they will not only ruin the lives of employees but also tarnish the company's reputation.
Please check if there are any HR managers or Chief People Officers who can support employee concerns and look into this issue. It is crucial to ensure that the workplace is a supportive environment, not a living hell.
