I am Madhuparna Roy. I used my Priority Pass on 9th April at Hyderabad airport having no idea that HDFC bank has started charging for domestic usage. I had no clue that it's supposed to be only for International usage now. I was shocked to see a charge of Rs. 2658 for this in my April statement. Prior to this I had no outstanding in my card. As soon as I realized abt the charge I called up the customer service on 18th May. Bcoz my HDFC bank cards are all paid up and clear with no outstanding and hence I had no idea I will be charged for something I wasn't notified of! No email, no sms, no phone call about the rule changes whatsoever. When I called up the customer support the lady on the line told me she is raising a complaint and that I will be notified in 3 to 4 working days. Since then neither have I been notified, nor the amount has been reversed. I have the call recording too..Instead my May statement came with a late fee!! So it's affecting my credit report? I am a person who pays all her emis on time without a single default case and with a good credit rating. This has clearly affected my credit rating also! Now, if HDFC bank does not reverse this charge with immediate effect and clear my credit report, I will not only raise this issue with the RBI Ombudsman, but I will also take this fraud up with the media. I am contributor with prominent media houses and I will make sure that people know about this. So, I will really appreciate if the HDFC Bank officials act on it with immediate effect.
