HDFC Bank — Wants to close my close account and waive off the negative balance

I was working with HDFC bank Pune. I left the job in 2017 and thereafter i withdrawn all the amount from the account since i will not be receiving any more funds.
Now my salary account in hdfc bank has been converted to savings account and it is showing – 8 to 9 k (Negative Bal) balance.
I had already submitted the closure form in HDFC bank in 2018 but at that time I have not taken acknowledgement from the bank. From 2017 I am not in Pune because I shifted to other city.
Every month I am getting massage of negative Bal. From 2018 i am not using this account.

The balance in a savings bank account can’t be negative because of the non-maintenance of minimum balance charges, as per the Reserve Bank of India’s notification issued in November 2014.
As per the rbi rule, "according to the rbi notification, banks should not take undue advantage of customer difficulty or inattention. Instead of levying penal charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance in ordinary savings bank accounts.
Also it says clearly that: as per a directive from the reserve bank of india (Rbi), banks have been asked to stop imposing charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance once the balance touches zero, the times of india reported. The central bank has also given the customers an option to approach the banking ombudsman in case lenders continue to debit charges on such accounts, creating negative balance.

Here I want to close to my account and I am not paying any amount to close my acc.
Please do the needful and help me close this issue by waiving off the charges on urgent basis or I will be forced to lodge a complaint with the banking ombudsman
