[Resolved] Hyundai Motor India — Steering rack damaged | |||
Hi My name is Ali Reza Akhundpur I have a I20 sports blue color model purchased in 2011 Number is MH O1 TA 6751 I have given my car for repairs at the Shreenath Hyundai workshop at Goregoan mumbai, and have been facing issues with the service and repairs since one and half year. I had an issue with the Steering wheel of the car one year before; it had automatically locked itself and was unmovable. I had taken the car to the workshop where they told me the motor was damaged and it replaced I was also told the steering rack is damaged by rats and would not be covered under warranty and would cost me RS 10000. I refused to believe it as the car was with them for two weeks the adviser informed me it was possible that it could have been damaged in the workshop as the car was kept open, but Shreenath will not cover it under warranty and I could not prove it . even if it was damaged by itself they would still prove that it was damaged by rats and I would have to bear the cost of it. I had an argument and later was informed they will replace the entire steering wheel for me and will try to attempt to get the rack replaced, they requested me to take the car for now and then would contact me. I kept on following up with the advisor than at the Shreenath workshop who requested me to have patience. It was still manageble for me to drive the car and I believed on his assurance I waited patiently for a reply. Later on I was informed it would not be replaced about two months later.as it would not be not make a difference to my driving of the car and if I use it with the same damaged rack. I agreed to it as I loved my car and found no issues while driving it. Now after one year, the steering wheel has again got very stiff and I’m not able to drive the car smoothly. My car has been in the Shreenath workshop for two weeks and have beend tol again the same reason that the rack is not replaceable in the steering and it has been damaged by rats and not covered under warranty.i have been told it will cost me RS 10000. I have my own garage where I park my car and there have been no other signs of rats damaging any other part of my car in any way. A few months back I had an accident of my car once and the same workshop had the head lights of my car replaced under insurance policy for new ones but later on I found out they had replaced the headlights of my car with repaired ones as it was visible I wen t back to the showroom, they apologized to me and immediately had new once placed in my car. I was requested not to complain about the issue and I let it go than. But now it has been two weeks I, m without a car and the service manage(Rodney) at Shreenath workshop informed me again the steering rack is not under warranty and will try to see what can be done They are willing to give me a 20% discount on the service charges and other small costs incurred in the car. I would want your immediate attention in getting this sorted out as I refuse to believe any part of my car being damaged by Rats. Was this information helpful? | |||
