ICICI Bank — rs.2000/- fake note received through icici bank atm | |||
Ref#savings bank account no.[protected] Hi, I have been the customer of icici bank for more than a decade. This is the first ever instance that i have this bitter experience. On 01-jul-2017 (Saturday), i have withdrawn rs.6700/- (Denomination of rs.2000*3 plus rs.100/-*7) from icici bank atm, padmanabhanagar, bangalore. Out of three rs.2000/- notes one note identified as fake note (Aa colour photostat copy of the rs.2000/- note which exactly resemples the original note). I called icici customer care number and i had been directed to visit the nearest icici bank branch and submit the complaint and get the note exchanged. When i visited katriguppe (Banashankari) branch, bangalore on monday (03rd jul 2017), the branch personnel has accepted the fake note and provided me a acknowledgement. The bank personnel told that they will enquire about this and exchange the note withing 07 working days. However, inspite of making three to four personal visits and requested for the status update, none of the bank staff has responded properly. After almost one month, on 25th jul 2017 (Tuesday), icici bank (Katriguppe branch, bangalore) has stated that the said fake note was not from icici bank atm. I was shocked to hear this from the branch staff. I repeatedly told that this note was received from the said atm and i believe that there will be record in the icici bank for having withdrawn the amount. Despite my several requests, bank has denied the fake note is from icici bank atm. And they have told that icici bank has conducted thorough audit and even central team of icici has conducted the audit and they found that there was no instance of fake note found in their investigation. When i asked icici katriguppe, banashankari branch to give the same in writing, they denied to do so. I told them that how can rely on the verbal statement provided by the branch. It is the bank's responsibility to provide us the response in writing so that i can lodge the police complaint based on the same.
