[Resolved]  IFB — Refrigerator problem

I had purchased an ifb refrigerator (Probably model no. 446edwdls) on 27th july, 2013. The lower door of this refrigerator got detached of its own (Came off its hinges) on 30th june, 2016. Not even a single scratch is there on the whole body of this refrigerator. Complaint was filed with ifb customer care on 30th june with ticket id as 17895074 at 8pm. After lot of pursuance (7-8 calls at customer care), attended by ifb’s technicians on 1st june at 3 pm. I was given an estimate of rs.13000 for door replacement. I have been told that the door is damaged from bottom side and hence, beyond repair. When asked about possible reasons of damage, only reason that could be told by technician is, erosion of body of door due to probable water dripping from fridge bottles. The reason given by technician seems quite ridiculous.In my opinion, either it’s because of manufacturing defect or poor quality of material used for manufacturing the door. The competency level of ifb’s technicians also appears questionable. They were not having answer of any question. Even, i had spent rs.4000 for repair of this refrigerator last year too. So, problem is a recurrent phenomenon with this product.
I am in a fix whether to go for replacement of door @ rs.13k or buy a new refrigerator. Obviously, if it’s a new one, it’s not going to be ifb again. Definitely, it’s high time for a brand loyal customer to think twice whether to purchase ifb refrigerator or not. At least, my loyalty towards ifb is over.
