Indian Railways — regarding clarification of rules for sharing of reserved upper berths during day time
Pnr no: [protected] & [protected] Train no. & name: 19415 / adi svdk express Date of journey: 13-jan-2020 Dear sir/mam, My mother aged 63 years, my wife and two children are travelling in this train on lower birth seats 49, 52 and 55. On rest of the seats in same cabin and in adjacent cabin, a marwadi group is also travelling. They are misbehaving with my wife regarding seat sharing. My question here is that " during day time, is there any rule for passengers on upper berths who occupy their upper birth by putting their bedsheets and also claim lower birth for seating? They are sleeping on upper births during the day and (As per railway rule) can sit on lower birth whenever they wish to. But a passenger at lower birth is made to sit on lower birth with the upper berthers the whole day. He/she has on claim on upper birth in daytime. Is this justifiable in any way? Do the passenger alloted a lower berth has any claim on upper berth for unfolding legs during day time? Was this information helpful?
