To whoever it may concern, I'm a student studying in Versova, Mumbai, and I'm based from Nagpur. I'm a frequent visiter to Nagpur, so visiting dates are always tentative. I have been dependent totally on IRCTC's Tatkal System for booking and I use to do successful transactions and get me a berth reserved.
There has been a fraud/scam with the booking system lately, I consecutively failed 7-8 times, failing to acquire a reserved berth. Here is how I suspected it :
1. I logged into the site almost 5mins before the start of Tatkal booking(9.35 AM). I select the train and quota I want to bag in. Let's talk for Duronto 12290. The available seats shown at 10AM are #229 to be exact.
2. Right when the clock ticks 10AM, I click on refresh button(to refresh the available seats) and "BOOK" option is right there.
3. I fill up the passenger details, proceed to payment gateway, and get a ticket in waiting list.
This all happened in just 5mins of booking.
Seems very logical and reasonable, there is no way 229 tickets get sold out in 5min from NGP to CSTM.
This was very informal way of delivering my message( just to be elaborative). This is very serious issue and should be looked in by the corncerned authorities. I hope the administration values the precious time spent by the customer to write a complain, and to of course, book a ticket in Tatkal quota.
Thank You.
