KTM Sportmotorcycle — Now I know why 50% of the KTM riders died in India!

Hi All,

I'm writing this post to explain the deadly scenario which I encountered after getting the bike from the service center.

Firstly I would like to mention that I own a KTM Duke 390 which was my dream to own one. The KTM Duke 390 is a piece of machinery we Indian speed enthusiasts were looking for (with the price tag of 1.95Lac Ex-showroom).

The bike comes with all the necessary safety features such as ABS from Bosch, Metzeler tyres and the 44 Brake horsepower to cruise it the way you desire.

I started my journey with this machine in the month of January 2016 and all I definitely recommend KTM Duke.

That's not it, there is a lot more to be improvised!

I got my bike from the 8th Mile KTM showroom Bangalore. The first service was done at around 980KM and the second service was done around at 7500KM and I did not like the service from 8th-mile Khivraj service center and I decided to give to an authorized KTM service center and I ended up with Mekhri Circle KTM service center Bangalore.

And I never knew this decision would make me end up with some life risking activities. Late in the night at 11 PM(02 July 2016) on the National highway-4, the day I got my bike back from the service (You obviously trust your bike when it is been serviced), My friend was riding at 130KMPH speed and suddenly the rear wheel stepped out and started wobbling (for around 10-12 Seconds) and the luck was on my side due to which the bike went to low speeds and he was able to stop.

But the deadliest incident made us shiver and I thank god nothing serious happened. The next day in the morning I was desperate to know the reason why the rear wheel acted insanely.

And here I found the Bolt that supports the rear wheel doesn't have any nut on the right-hand side, on the other hand, the chain adjustment gauge was missing.

I was literally shocked to see that the service people have not fixed the Nut and the gauge that supports rear wheel. I was lucky enough to survive during this situation and the next day I found the bolt was half way out from the tire.

Now I believe there are scenarios where KTM riders have encountered the same issues and later they found dead.

I'm attaching the picture I have clicked and I could prove the whole scenario by involving the other people and evidence.

Please help me reach this issue to all the KTM riders and help me make people aware of this kind of scenarios.
