[Resolved] MakeMyTrip.com — Cancellation not allowed

I booked a ticket through the online portal Makemytrip.com. I was travelling from Chennai to Delhi and back. So I booked for both sides. Due to some unavoidable circumstances I wanted to cancel my one way ticket from Chennai to Delhi. But the online portal makemytrip.com didn't allow me to cancel me the ticket for Chennai to Delhi part. They said that it can be cancelled only through the airlines directly. This clause has not been mentioned anywhere on the ticket and their website nor there was any mail to convey this information. I still tried to cancel the ticket through the airlines directly i.e. Spice jet airlines. The airlines customer service told me that they will not cancel the ticket as it was not cancel-able/ refundable. They say it is make my trip the company's fault. The ticket has refundable fare clearly mentioned on it. Please look into the matter and do the needful. +3 photos Was this information helpful? No (0) Yes (0)

With reference to your complaint, We would like to clarify that cancellation/rescheduling charges are as per the airline fare rules and it is the sole discretion of the airline and may vary from airline to airline only. Further, we would like to reiterate that airlines cancellation/rescheduling fare rules are mentioned on our website before making the booking. We wish to inform you that multiple flight sectors booked on one PNR can only be cancelled together and same is mention on our website and our E-Ticket.

Further, please note that refund has been processed to you after deducting applicable cancellation penalty.

At this point, regret but we will not be able to process any refund towards the penalty charged.

Hi,

Two points

1) There has not been any refund given to me till date. I am not asking for refund towards the penalty charged. I was not allowed to cancel the ticket through your website makemytrip.com for both the sectors.

2) Secondly, I tried to cancel the ticket from the airlines- Spicejet directly for both the sectors. They didn't cancel the ticket because it was not cancel-able or refundable. But it is mentioned on the ticket as refundable.

Please look into the matter again. The quality of your service has degraded.
