i purchased an international ticket on Makemytrip. The connecting flights were hyd to delhi by air India, delhi to Frankfurt by airIndia and Frankfurt to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by TAM. AirIndia cancelled the first flight a day before the flight and did not provide any alternative flights. Make my trip did not do anything to help either. The Makemytrip has one thing to say for everything - we are talking to the airline. Will I get an alternative flight? Their answer is, "we don't know". What about myinternational flight for tomorrow. Their answer is, "we don't know". Because of this, I had to purchase indigo flight that night and stay in a hotel in delhi. Again Makemytrip claimed the hotel was a four star but it turned out to be a shanty place. When I reached Delhi, I went through the immigration without a problem and was about to board the flight to Frankfurt along with my family - wife and three kids. Just then airIndia security tells me that I will need a transit visa to connect via Frankfurt. This information was not given to me by neither Makemytrip nor AirIndia. AirIndia said they cannot allow me to take the flight as transit visa is needed by Indians flying via Frankfurt. I have not been informed by neither AirIndia nor Makemytrip. Even worse, neither of them took responsibility for alternative flight for me. The worst part was that I was "offloaded" by AirIndia. They stamped on my passport saying that I was offloaded. When I asked them why they would stamp such negative message on my passport inspite of my not being responsible for any of it, they laughed and said that it is their procedure. More than insensitivity it is cruelty towards customers. AirIndia and Makemytrip are able to be cruel towards customers because they believe that they are invincible and nobody will hold them responsible for take their customers for a ride. Because of the way AirIndia and Makemytrip treat their customers, I had to travel separately from my family. This was the most harrowing part of the experience. In addition to that, I had to by an alternative route completely on my own. When I was about to take the flight through a different airlines in Hyderabad, the Hyderabad bureau of immigration asked me what offloading meant. They interrogated me about this stamp in the passport. Clearly the officer saw something obviously negative in it and did not let me through till they questioned me and till I showed them all the additional paper work of proof of family, their tickets, that I could not travel with them because of the ill treatment by AirIndia and Makemytrip. I do want anybody else to go through such a horrible and heartbreaking experience by choosing Makemytrip or AirIndia. My fellow citizens should know the possible painful experience awaiting them when they choose Makemytrip or AirIndia.

I have called several times and registered several complaints and even escalated the complaints. It says wait 48hours. Even escalation is not allowed on your website. I have asked that this be escalated to management but it was not done.
